Very nice! You did delete the stock cats? Turbosmart wastegates, good move. With this kit I 100% recommend u run a water/meth kit. Don't tune for it jist for cooling purposes. This kit is hard on pistons and piston rings.
Nope, still got the stock cats. Cut and welded the bends to match up with the turbos. My buddy is wanting me to delete the cats though, lol.

Thanks for the advice about the water/methanol kit. Any recommended brands?

Bro...like a must. Delete those things. Causes too much back pressure with those little turbos. As far as the water/meth kit. I got a heck of a deal on the snow performance stage 2.5 kit with the multi gauge off ebay for 350. Look around and make an offer. I think it was this seller and link:

Cutting out the cats would probably drop thay boost pressure a little.

I feel like a fool for not connecting the cats with the pressure issue. But thanks for the info on the kit! Will be getting one ASAP

So a little update from recent events.

I got a low oil pressure warning light a few weeks back. Turns out I had a rodent living in my engine bay and they chewed through the wire... So far it’s the only damage we can find other than poop everywhere and the smell of urine.

My brother and I fixed that up and vacuumed up the mess. We also found a nest of leaves and cotton in the battery tray and cleaned that up as well.

I was also unfortunately in a minor accident. Someone ran a red light, causing the vehicle in front of me to slam on their brakes and I couldn’t stop fast enough. Luckily we caught the guy who ran the light and caused the accident and insurance took care of it.

And finally today my brother and I replaced the stock F-150 turbo wastegate actuators with aftermarket ones from Turbosmart. We also replaced Turbosmart’s 5 psi spring with a 3 psi spring to try to alleviate the overboosting issue. While replacing these we actually noticed one of the bolts wasn’t flush on the passenger side turbo so there was a small exhaust leak between the turbo and the manifold. We got a new bolt and fixed that up.

Unfortunately we’re still making too much boost. 10.5 to 11 psi on a WOT run in 3rd gear with spikes as high as 14-15. Our next thought is it just completely redo the exhaust to try to free up the flow.

I sent a few data logs to MPT so maybe they’ll have some ideas too.

That sucks.

Who caught the red light runner?

Often in that scenario, if the red light runner didn't hit anyone and the car in front of you stopped short the car that hit them would be considered at fault for following too close or inattention.

Luckily I had it on dash cam and it was a unique situation where our light had just barely turned green and it was very low speed.

I was actually the one that caught him. I stopped with the guy that I hit and we saw the red light runner turn into a gas station. The other guy trusted me and I took off and stopped the guy who ran the light.

Good on you. Its a sad fact that law enforcement won't or can't get justice.

I chased a hit and run and blocked him in after he turned into a single entrance parking lot. I flagged a cop and the guy started swinging a chain at the cop and she had to call for backup. Later the cops told me I should have just reported it. Long story short but after questioning the cops they admitted nobody would probably be charged if the owner of the vehicle said they didn't do it since there was no proof who was driving.

Even the DA wanted me to okay dropping charges if the other driver paid for repairs. Told him hell no. Guessing good chance they did anyway. No trial at least because I was never called as a witness.

Yep, so at this point that is 100% the issue.
Lol, yep. Let me know the results when you fix that issue. Then you will probably go back to the 5psi spring.

I use the turbosmart IWG only, no boost controller on my 3.7 ecoboost kit. I use a 7 psi spring, use a mighty vac to set the preload and total boost 10 psi on 93 octane. My wot pulls at full boost is 10 psi throughout the entire powerband to 7k rpms (starting at 2750 rpms). I’ve never got any overboost. I also use custom F150 3.5 turbos with a 59mm compressor even Bigger then the GT version 54mm along with a clipped turbine wheel..

Also do this, instead of running your turbosmart iwg line to a manual boost controller, take that line and put it on the compressor housing of each turbo (like my picture). Go for a ride and see if your still get overboost.

When you remove your cats if you still have overboost try having your turbine wheel clipped.
