Just changed my plate; hadn't used the online changeover process before (thanks Ian whu). Took about 2 minutes online and 2 minutes calling Direct Line to tell them. Excellent. :)

Right, executive decision: I'm gonna shelve the idea until I get the car.

Birthday pressie to myself will be a new front & rear Dash cam.

Cheers for the help chaps.... gonna revisit this thread in July

New number plates from dealers: did many of you get an option to chose your actual letter/number option from the dealer?
Specifically, anyone bought from Gowrings in Reading.... did they give you the option?
To answer this bit - yes, got ours from there and we were given a reasonably long list to choose from when we popped in to sort out all the paperwork about a week before collecting the car. Obviously all Reading-based options - number plates aren't really my thing, but the other half picked something she could remember easily!

Cheers David, interesting. Think I'll prep my dealer (buying from Gowrings) to source the options well in advance then. I did this once before, many years ago on a new Discovery & chose a plate with my Wife's initials (ahhhhh!) but only cause I couldn't get mine (booooo).

Good info, cheers

I was given a choice from a list of about 15-20. They were in alphabetical order and just missed out on my initials by 5 registrations.. So worth a conversation with the dealer incase something personal to you is on their books between now and car being delivered.

I chose my number plate from my dealer the 2nd week of march, got a selection of all of their '16 plates. Went with BK16 OSM - only one with my initials in...
