Sure isn't a Pete Reyes. Thanks for posting, though.

Different bias in the GT500 Torsen vs the GT350 Torsen and larger half shafts.

Good stuff.

Decent shots of that "base" model Silver car too. The design - particularly the front - is sort of off the chain, so I think in terms of color, supplemental aesthetics like stripes, less-is-more. I'm feeling that solid, dialed back silver vs. the Carbon/Track car in blue with stripes that has so much going on it gives me seizures :D

I just had a conversation about this and admit that while I've wanted everything in the CF Track Pack car, I could see the bare bones GT500 making do - especially if the CF package is stupid expensive. I'm likely to change to a custom wheel regardless of how I spec the car so why sit on a set of the CF wheels/tires at their added expense? Looking forward to seeing what the base car looks like without stripes in silver, red, blue, and white.

Yeah. The halfshafts we figured were beefier.

I wonder what kind of weight increase we have there. I’m also wondering if the aluminum pumpkin cover was made steel.

In this particular case, I welcome the added weight there for balance.

I'm willing to bet it is still aluminum as much as it may have been optimized for use in the GT500. Aluminum covers cost more to manufacture but can be designed to be very rigid without size becoming excessive and dissipate heat well. Easy to cast cooling fins vs trying to either stamp them or add them onto the typical steel 8.8" cover.

Everyone knew the halfshafts had to be more robust but that was the first time I think I heard Carl mention it. It'll be interesting to see if the CV joints were upgraded as well (and the boots!).
