I've had my 2017 GT350 for 2 months (1900 miles) now. Love the car. I daily drive this car as long as its not bad rain or any snow at all. Also, I do not track or beat on this car. Last week after about a half hour of driving i took the car up to about 6500 RPM and the check engine light came on and started flashing...WTF!? This was after 5pm on a Sat so there wasn't anyone at my dealership to call. I turned the car back on after a few minutes and no light at all so i drove the remaining 1/4 mile to my house. There were no strange noises and the car drove fine. Dealership had the car for 2 days and said the code was telling them that the motor has "a miss" at higher RPM. They called the Ford Help Desk and ran all tests and said there isn't anything wrong with the car and that the problem was probably caused by bad gasoline...two days later i take it to around 6500 RPM and the light came back on, flashed for about 20 seconds, stayed on constant for a few minutes then went away....car is in the shop right now. Frustrating...

Definitely sounds like a misfire issue.

Ford services center just called. All 8 ignition coils failed, will have parts tomorrow and hope that does it.

That seems unbelievably unlikely. But, I hope it solves your issue.

This^^^^

How did it run at all with 8 bad coils? That ain't a "misfire" that's DOA.

Edit: Maybe they meant that they failed diagnostic testing, not they failed completely.

Car runs great, no loss of power or unusual noise. I guess I'll see tomorrow.

On a side note, this is my first mustang and most badass car I've ever owned.

Hopefully not a general electrical issue.

Probably failed some type of diagnostic test.

My 350Z had a coil go a year or two ago. Started intermittently in hot weather, then got progressively worse. Nothing like running a V6 in 5 cylinder mode. And I thought the Voodoo had vibration issues!

Got that coil replaced and then a few months ago another went out. Same type of scenario. Intermittent at first, then gradually getting worse. I therefore just had all 5 remaining old coils replaced and the car is running great.

Hopefully this means that once you get your new coils the car will be running great as well. I take my GT350 to redlline a couple times per commute, and have done some track days, and have not yet had any issues. I think you'll be fine once the replacement parts arrive.

Good luck!

I hope so too. I'll try a raptor if this keeps up, but I'm hoping this car is still in my garage for many more years..

You may want to ask them to go ahead and keep tracing the issue until they figure out what caused all 8 coils to go bad simultaneously. Not something I'd accept.

Chances are that maybe one failed. They are just replacing them all to make sure you don't come back with another failure costing Ford more money. It is cheaper to fix things in one service call, instead of many.

They are probably intermittent and failed a MOC, maintenance operation check .
