Just a thought...When you add up the cost of the parts individually that are included in the performance Package, the cost of $2,500 is so worth it! It would cost easily twice that amount not including labor if you weren't able to do the mod's yourself.

Has anyone considered a GT Premium W/ PP and than replacing the 3.73's and installing 3.55's ?

You would still have a fast car.

The fun of a manual.

A great handling car.

Fantastic braking car.

And a great road car with decent mileage.

IMO, the difference between 3.55s and 3.73s is not really enough to justify swapping them.

I am really leaning towards the GT with Performance Package, presuming I get the Mustang rather than a used Cadillac CTS-V.
The only thing I would like to change out with the Mustang would be to switch out the 3.73 gears for something around 3.08 so the car could cruise on the highway at around 2000 RPM.

How difficult would it be to have the gears switched out?

I believe the 2015 GT+PP will be just under 2100 RPM at 70 MPH. I'd just leave the gears as is and enjoy the benefits of the car performing as it was designed...

I once considered the CTS-V. But starting price of $65,000 was too much for me.
Lb. for lb. HP to weight ratio that is, the Ford Mustang GT w/ PP, nicely equipped for $40,000 IMO has got to be one of the best bangs for your buck. Just think...

You get a 50 year American Icon with good old fashion, gut wrenching, eyeball flattening,
Yankee Doodle, torque Monster.

As far as the rearend gearing...a buddy of mine took his 2009 Shelby GT500 to a quality shop near us called Rearend Specialty's. He bought the 3.73 gear kit from Ford Racing for...
I want to say around $150.00 and had the shop install them for $500.00

My original post was to change my 3.73's for 3.55's

Now I agree with member ScottPE... I'm going t enjoy the 3.73's the way they were intended.
