Hey parts help question . I found a really good deal on a complete set of seat belts for the rear of the car on E-bay. They say the belts were takes off a 2020 GT California Special. Question is would the rear belts out of a California special fit the GT 500. Looks to me like the trim housing on the rear belt is different than the trim housing on the GT 500.

part # JR3B-c699d74-cd3zhe (both belts have this number on the retractor housing.)

Any help appreciated.

I’d be surprised if the seatbelts weren’t the same across all 2015+ Mustangs.

I agree I think the actual belt mechanism is the same. I think the plastic trim piece that the belt goes through is different on the California special because the California special has that convertible top. I would buy the belts and swap out my stock plastic trim piece but I’m not quite sure how to disassemble the belt mechanism to get my stock plastic trim piece on.

Rear belts were different (receptacle size) between 15-17 and 18+.

2020 Belts are the same. How good of a deal? Because i have to be honest, while ebay is great i wouldnt buy safety components or restraints off there. The belts are relatively cheap from Ford and you know what you're getting. You just never know what they have been through from a salvage yard. Also make sure if you do get them off ebay they come with the lower bolt to secure them to the body. Even OEM they do NOT and that held me up a couple days waiting as well.

that bolt part number is W505275-S439

Thanks, both rear belts and the buckle assembly for $43.00 Says they came out of a 2020 California Special with 500 miles on the odometer. I still think that plastic housing the belt comes out of is different on the California special car.

reminds me i gotta get your stuff in the mail
Thank you very much. I appreciate our support / donations LOL looks like it’s probably gonna cost me about a grand to get this done all in.

Almost half of that cost was stock Recaro rear skins to match the front. Otherwise I guess it could’ve been less expensive.

Anyone know if the child latch assembly is required to hold the rear seat bench (part for your butt ) down or can I just leave it out ?
