Thought I saw someone claim this hood is about 7ish pounds heavier than stock. I should go out in the garage and weigh this thing...
Just the rain tray is about 7lbs lol

Yea that thing is heavier than I expected for sure. I won’t be installing the bottom rain tray.

Have you weighed the hood in its entirety?
Somebody did earlier in this thread

Ok so I had to know. Here’s what I got for each component of the Cervinis gt500 hood for 15-17 cars:

Top Vent-8.4lbs

Rain Tray-8 lbs

Cervinis Hood without vent/tray-37.6 lbs

*Stock hood bare-31 lbs

*Stock hood loaded-36 lbs

* these numbers taken from “what things weigh” thread so not the same scale. I’ll try to weigh my stock hood in the spring.

Its not designed to be a "finish coat" so it will not hold up well without protection. Its also white, so that will definitely be an eye sore. You are spending a good amount of money on this hood, seems dumb to pinch a few pennies on the underside of the hood.
White? What’s white?

not sure where you got your information but Cervini themselves say it’s perfectly fine to run the hood with the standard gloss black gel coat on the underside lol. I’ve been doing it since the GT500 hood came out for the 18+. I was one of their very first pre-orders. Mine still looks brand new like the day I installed it. And I happen to think it looks just fine.

The black finish isnt standard, they add it. It comes in a plain white gel coat when you order it unfinished. So if you read what i said previously, i said either the black finish or color coat is needed.

Hi Gentlemen,
Can you please tell me if any of you who installed the Cervini GT 500 hood had any problems with the fit and installation on your 2018 and up GT's? Any lessons learned you care to share?

The only thing that required a small amount of manipulation was getting the washer jets mounted and the rear hood seal. This was probably because the painter put down A LOT of paint when he did his thing so may not be a universal experience.

So it looks like VicRez so far has the only GT500 hood for the 18+ that retains the actual stock GT500 hood lines and ridges?

Does anyone have any experience with how functional this hood is for heat extraction in HPDE conditions? While it looks great, I need a hood with functional vents. I was contemplating the Trackspec GT4 style vents, but I also use this as a DD (in Chicago winters), so I like the idea of the removable drip tray on this Cervini GT500 hood. Thanks.
