So I've been looking for answers on a wastegate set up for the S550 with no luck. I'm leaning towards the Paxton Beefcake Special but want more torque like the turbo guys seem to be achieving. I've read that that with older models they achieved more torque & horse power even with less boost. So I'm wondering why this isn't talked about more?

Also are there any centrifugal guys running the ATI 20% Balancer with there set up? I was thinking this would help with not throwing the crank snout off balance while getting the car at around safe 10lbs of boost with the stock Paxton pulley. Any thoughts or suggestions with the pulley & wastegate together?

IMO by the time you do all that you could of just got a VMP blower and have a ton of torque. Are you auto? My Paxton car has a 3c converter and I don't even move off the line till 4,000RPM so I don't see the loss of torque the Paxton has.

Yeah I'm auto with 355 gears. I've had a maggie TVS on my Camaro, it was fun. But my Vette has a ECS Novi 1500 & loved how the power is delivered on the street better. I just seen a lot of lower torque numbers on the Centrifugal 5.0 cars. But I ran across a good read with the wastegate added 25ish rwhp & like 90ish foot lbs tq on the same car with the same pulley. My original plan was do 3.6 pulley, 1000cc ID, BAP, JLT on 93 oct. I already have headers. But now I'm thinking 3.8 pulley, wastegate, 20% over drive, 1000cc ID, BAP, JLT on 93 oct. What I'm trying to figure out is can I make around the same or more hp/tq with less boost 10 ish lbs (3.8, WG & ODP) vs 12ish with the 3.6 pulley?

I might just say screw it & do the Fore system with E85, 3.6, WG & 20% ODP lol. Should put me around 15lbs. I just want to do this one time & be done, this is my DD. It's just my town & daily commute has some Hell Cats, Z06, & ect romping around, reving up at my little stockish 5.0 & I'm ready to hurt some feelings.

I didn't have any problems taking down a couple cars with more torque and horsepower in a 1/2 mile event. Beat a 2014 Viper with a tune, 2012 GT500 with upgraded blower, Camaro Zl1... And a couple others. I ran right next to a twin turbo 2012 Mustang. He had me by half a car at the end. Just get the Paxton and don't look back.

Thanks man! That is a impressive mph 1/2 mile run in your sig for your hp especially with weight of these cars. What gear, tire size & transmission?

we do the 20% o/d on all of our cars, you will need the smaller water pump pulley we sell from mmr and you will have to grind the tensioner.

depending on how far you want to take the car

we have been doing wastegate setups on these cars for years, we'll have a few available as soon as tial gets me some wastegates. we've been 8 weeks waiting on them. it's almost absurd at this point.

E85 will be a nice bump torque bump across the board. Of course now that I'm on E85 I also want to go with a wastegate setup :p

165mph rolling across the line at 40mph? Am I reading that right? I was able to do 160.7mph from a dig. Shooting for 170 with better air next month...

Yep. Rolling start at 40mph. I don't do dig racing right now since my drivetrain isn't upgraded any. You'd really be flying with a rolling start at your HP level.

I'm debating rather to do mine or not before the supercharger install. Some are telling me I don't need them at all
