Guys any idea what I can do. The center cap hits the boot. Can I get a domed cap? Its a Velgen wheel. What can be done?

Run them without center caps, contact Velgen and see if they have a solution for a center cap, or remove the dust cover. I wouldn’t personally recommend the last option but it’s an option none the less

So can I actually remove the cover?? I don’t drive the car much. And here’s part two to this question. I’m going to have to run an 8mm spacer. Is it ok if I lose that much with the lug? I guess what I’m asking is can I still have enough “bite” on the lugs to secure the wheels??

Anything look out of place, OFF center?

Put the spacer on, mount the wheel, put on a couple of lug nuts to center the frigging wheel

Install the cap, all lugs 150ftlbs
8mm is an RCH over 1/4 in, install eveything and look it over.

Not a spacer guy, cannot give an honest answer

Thanks buddy. The wheel will not fit flush because of brembo so I need like 8mm. Spacer. The wheel is 45mm. I pulled it out to check clearance in that picture. The center boot is sticking out too far even with 8mm spacing. It clears the strut bolt and the brembo caliper but the center cap is flat and it will not go on. I know they sell domed center caps but I guess I’ll have to do a lot of searching. But modular said take off the boot, again I don’t drive the car much maybe 200 miles a year so I might go that route. The stage III Roush only has 4400 miles on it and to be honest I’m going to sell it shortly but I want the wheels to fit. My other question would be even with the 8 mm spacing will there be enough bite on the lug nut from stock to 8 mm further out for the wheel to be secure??

Can run without center caps fine, would take a while for dirt to accumulate, most likey not before you unload it. Will be pretty well protected without the center cap.
Just not a good idea long, long, long term

That rubber boot literally has the words ”Do not adjust. Do not remove” on it.

I would try to keep it on. How far is it from fitting. I’m thinking maybe if you used a hammer you could crush it enough for it to work if it’s only a few mm. Or even cut it and reweld it thats possible.

I would not run a 8mm spacer, no. 5mm max. However, If you can get 7 full turns of the lug nuts with your spacer (i.e. 7 threads of engagement), then send it. Lug nuts are kind of important.

some people do dent the dust cover with a hammer. It does come off if you need to replace the hub, but its not really designed to remove and reinstall the same part. Yeah you could go without it, but doing so may shorten the life of the hubs

next time buy wheels that actually fit the car.

Maybe it’s just the picture, but it looks like it’s plastic to me.

Yeah maybe next time a “wheel” company might know that their talking about before selling. I’ve had over 18 mustangs, Shelby’s, KR, gt350, then hellcat, scats, 7 SRT GCs. This fitment threw me a little.
