The optional carbon fiber dash panel, can it be bought thru Ford parts and installed on a car that didn't come with it ?

It's not an overlay. Be prepared to bleed.

It's carbon fiber dash, not overlay. When buying a new car it's an optional for $500 extra. I was quoted around $3K for CF dash installation at the same ford dealer after 3 months I purchased my car.

Interestingly I don't actually see a lot of cars that came with it. If I had ordered my car, I definitely would have shelled out the $500 or so, if that was the cost.

Before I bought mine I read quite a bit about the possible glare the CF dash would give. Just doesnā€™t happen, not to me anyways. Is it worth the $500? Absolutely, itā€™s stunningly beautiful.
Iā€™ve been a CF junky for motorcycles for a long time so this was a must for me.
Funny how most of the cars I searched had the CF dash option.

When I was looking I found a GT350 that I wanted but it didn't have the handling package and the carbon fiber dash. I asked if these could be installed and they told me that the handling package could be ordered and installed but the carbon fiber could not be installed because they would have to take apart the whole dashboard assembly or something like that.

Finding one with the $500 option is well worth it. It seems like it will cost more and be more of pain if you want it and get a car without it.

Did a quick filter on corriebā€™s production tracking spreadsheet, looks like 65.9% of all GT350/350R cars have the CF dash.

My 2020 GT350 has the CF dash. It looks great. The owner of the dealership picked all the options when he ordered my car. I wasnā€™t specifically wanting the CF dash when I bought it, but now that Iā€™m reading this Iā€™m glad I have it. I have to say itā€™s grown on me.

If you are spending as much money as a GT350 costs, $500 one way or the other is not an issue. My car came loaded, including CF dash. It looks great, what glare? Honesty, never even came close to being an issue. It looks amazing and if I can manage to get my bride to not put her feet on it we'll get along great.

If you can manage to find it OEM, I'd vote yes.

I too would not have ordered the CF dash, but the car came with it and now I love it. It adds some polish to a somewhat Ford plastic interior. In fact I have added CF trim for the door window switched, the overhead dome light console, the center stack and the console coin tray. IMHO and taste, it has elevated the interior finish. Moot for those strictly focused on track use.
