Dropped her off today for the metallic low rpm ticking sound...good news is the guy already said needs to order a part and said exhaust issue so maybe they know something already?

Make sure they are letting the car warm up. For me its most noticeable warm with the a/c blowing.

Mine makes the typewriter ticking noise no matter cold or warm :(

Did they put stock catback on? Because otherwise I'm sure they couldn't hear anything with open headers.

Hm, can you put the stock mufflers back on and drive for a little while like a day or 2 and see if the sounds coming back then take it back to the dealer? the important thing is it was documented that you brought it in for this ticking sound.

They did not...that's why I am pretty upset...I have to find an oem catback to test now

FWIW my tick was only above 185 degrees. Cold start no tick. The hotter the weather the louder the tick.

If there is an exhaust leak at a pipe flange, header/manifold mating surface, header/manifold gasket or where any part of a catback would connect up to the mid pipe via clamps (or quick disconnects), yes it will sound like a metallic ticking noise.

Are you certain that the existing aftermarket catback was sealed or connected properly?

What I don't understand is how they heard anything with open headers? You wont hear a faint tick when you have that roaring engine... Unless they took a bunch of steel wool or hooked up long pipes to send the sound out of the garage, there's no way they could tell if it's ticking or not.

That's why I call BS...I asked them and they said oh we put rags in it to isolate it...yup Game on!
