Hello,

I was sitting in my car this morning listening to music. After 30 mins or so, the engine shut off, leaving the car in "accessory". I say this because my bluetooth phone did not disconnect when it happened. The car started back up fine. I just installed a pair of amps and subs, and while it's possibly related, I doubt it. I am very thorough in ensuring all of my connections are good - it was a several day install, not a shoddy job. Also, my main power line is fused just off the battery, and had something shorted down the line, that fuse should have popped.

Thanks guys. I guess I understand the concept - say you are defrosting your car and forget that it's running. What I don't understand is why it leaves it in accessory? Does it completely turn off after awhile? I would hope so, so it doesn't drain the battery.

Yes it should turn itself off around ten minutes in accessory mode

Yes the car is programmed to turn off when left running for 30 minutes idle. I believe you can change that in your settings. Check your manual.
