Car in for new engine at dealers and stolen last night!!!!!!!!!!!

Well some of you would have seen my tread (My engine is deceased). all that doesnt matter now. Thieves broke in to dealership and stole the car with 2 or 3 others. I woke up to see on the news. I'm really upset - new car. Sh@t. Talk about bad luck. Now I gotta ring the insurers.

I would guess that's the dealerships insurance that will pay, not your auto policy. It was under their care correct?

The engine still ran (but not well). So they didnt get a good engine. I'm thinking dealer insurance will cover it.

I would not want the car back, who knows what they did to it. I doubt the thieves are gonna be nice and just leave the car since the engine is no good, they would probably beat on it more. I would demand a new one from dealership.

Interestingly my son who is a lawyer says it comes down to negligence - if they took all reasonable precautions like locking the car up locking the key in the safe (it wasnt in the safe) then my insurance would have to pay. As the key was not secure they will likely be responsible.

Is the key fob still at the Dealership? Does the Dealer have security cams?

Being that you said in your other post there’s not many S550’s “down under” and specifically super bright YELLOW ones, that car should be easy to spot if it’s parked somewhere... or being transported if not in an enclosed trailer.

Did you have any type of gps or tracking device installed on it?

They got the key fob. Someone forgot to lock the key in the safe. I dont have GPS - you can bet the replacement will have one. Yes the triple yellow is quite rare - I was on TV tonight with good footage I took of the car for you tube (havent finished editing yet). I guess orange is the next colour.
