I honestly don't think RPM and/or engine load is a factor...there's quite a few guys on the forums that are total track rats not using any oil at all.

The GT350 is a great looking and performing vehicle. It's obviously a fantastic car.

However, the FPC is new territory for Ford.

I presume Ford did a kazillion hours of testing on it. I hope it stands the test of time out in the real world.
The crank would have little do do with oil consumption.

Oil control at the ring, compression, oil weight, rpm, driving conditions etc. Would all have much more to do with it.

I have a 2016 trac pack now with 10000 miles , the first 500 I drove it pretty easy and used a quart and a half and i thought oh no whats up . Having not read thru the owners manual yet, then at 1500 another quart. then 1st oil change at 2000 , another quart at 5000 . at 9000 none. I do quite a few redline runs onto the freeway , no trac time but I feel lucky my break in went well, because after reading the owners manual I thought I blew it.

April issue of C&D has latest update of their long term GT350. Good news is they still love the performance and handling after 23,200 miles. Bad news - they say they are getting tired of having to fill-up and check the oil every 250 miles. They say the car has used 5 quarts of oil in the last 3000 miles. They claim that 'most" of their current driving is in freeways. Of course, it goes without saying that they surely beat the living snot out the car during most of its stay with them.

Still, this is not the kind of news we like to hear! :(

I interpreted him to mean the entire motor, with the FPC being one component of a unique platform as some of your points included...

^^^:eyebulge:Really?:lol::lol:
But in all serious though, How many with oil consumption have had an engine failure? I had no oil consumption whatsoever in my track pack and followed recommended break in. At 4k miles engine shat itself. Second engine, no oil consumption and it was bad too. Now I have an R and it has close to 9k miles and consumes oil and runs like a champ.

Explain that one to me?:headbonk:

So you have a guy who writes out an intelligent post below....

And you come along with your intelligent reply (which was unsolicited and hardly informative)
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
But that's your style...... You do this a lot if you haven't noticed.

So I guess what you meant to say was this???

Then why not just come out and say it instead of posting something that comes across as pure ridicule?

Hey man, I get it. You like to beat the piss out of your cars and be the winner of the "whos got the most miles" contest. Why not just respect other people and their inputs a little more?

I thought the long term tests were 40-50k miles?

Anyways, 5qts of oil in 3000 miles is a lot. I know the GT350 isnt a regular car and more often then not is driven by a car enthusiast, but I'm certain there are owners who never check the oil and are probably already over 5k miles since last oil change. That is pretty scary man.

Btw, Im waiting for my free black stone-labs oil kit to for my car. If you're interested in how the engine is doing with the oil you can get a free kit and fill out a form on what results you want to get.
