Unfortunately the aftermarket ball will be what the dealer will blame. as it is literally directly connected to your problem. dealers will get you any way they can. they see it as get paid now by denying you warranty. i have had multiple law suits with Ford, thats all i buy is Fords and Lincolns. i have only won half of those suits. and it can get expensive. my lawyer says its like suing the government.
So the obvious question is.....why do you continue to buy Fords.? Take the purchase money and lawyer fees and buy something better!

Another what's the op changing in the cars, Ford doesn't void a warranty for no reason.

1/2 of all cars purchased......... not thinking Ford is the problem here. And to add I got to believe some attitudes sway that call also... See a lot of children hopping up & down cause they are told they are wrong or responsible .

Whats the latest on this issue?
On Friday the text I got from the service advisor is "will need to lower the transmission, keep the rental for now please".

Hopefully this means they're warranting it, I didnt okay any such work, so i'm hoping thats a sign of thats the case, but could be wrong?

Another what's the op changing in the cars, Ford doesn't void a warranty for no reason.

1/2 of all cars purchased......... not thinking Ford is the problem here. And to add I got to believe some attitudes sway that call also... See a lot of children hopping up & down cause they are told they are wrong or responsible .
not sure what you mean RapidRed. I changed the ball on the shifter, nothing changed to the shifter itself.

Between company cars and personal cars through my life i have owned over 50 fords and Lincolns i have gone after ford 4 times and have won twice. one time a replacement car of a new year was given and the other a check was given. and in answer i had a porsche 911 that gave me far more problems then fords and a Cadillac that had nothing but serious problems. so i stick to being true blue! no one said half the cars were problems only won half the time.

No it has not. The last I heard from the dealership was Friday. I messaged my advisor earlier today and did not receive a reply.

Since I didnt get a reply, i decided to stroll down to the dealership just now. Advisor sent me to the service manager.

He told me straight forward *how i'd hope anyone would and all i wanted*, that the car hasnt been touched and earliest it may would be two weeks after i dropped it off which would be monday 1/25. I'm fine with that, now that they actually told me what is going on.

I hate companies that dont communicate what is going on.

That's BS......... Hope you marked your mileage when dropped off........ Are they waiting for a 'special factory rep?'

the milage was taken when i dropped it off and yes they're waiting on the specialist who is working on an engine for a navigator.

Went to dealership yesterday since I hadn't heard from them.

There was one more part they were waiting to come in, should be done Wednesday or Thursday.

Service advisor called the guy in the back while I was there, he said the plastic pieces on the end of the fork for 3/4th gear broke off and was stuck in the position for reverse causing it to not go.

At least that's what I believe I heard and I'm not a mechanic to know if that makes sense or not.

Not holding my breath for tomorrow, but sure as heck hope so. I need some cruising therapy.
