Definitely a good read, and pretty much sums up what all other owners have seen and experienced.

By far the best quote of the story was from the editor-in-chief:

"Ford sure named this voodoo engine right. I feel like my right foot has been possessed by the spirit of Carroll Shelby." —Eddie Alterman, editor-in-chief

The funny thing is the GT350 Normal Mode and 2018+ Active Exhaust Quiet Mode operate identically, the exhaust valve is closed. Track mode on both exhaust systems operate identically, the exhaust valve is wide open. The only difference between the two is the 2018+ Active Exhaust has Normal and Sport modes. Which open the exhaust valve partially then depending on throttle position opens it more.

They probably have bags and gear in the trunk. I assume the photo was taken during a cross country road trip.

Incorrect. He's talking about START UP. At start, the GT350 does a loop diagnostic that will open and close the valves and keep them closed because the car defaults to Normal Driving Mode on start. This happens on first clutch depression when the car has been shut off regardless if the car is in accessory mode or not.

2018+ Mustang GT's with active exhaust can be left in a mode and the valves will stay in that position on any start up.

I think the car was Photoshopped in.
It can be but if you look at the background you have blur from folks moving while picture was taken and that indicates a long exposure. Post processing (aka as Photoshop or equivalent) might have been done selectively on the car yet if you look at the glass you see the correct background through (I am not saying it wasn't just that I do not think they needed to).

Ah, Devil in the details.

I missed the part about Startup. He must not be aware of quiet starting the car by clutching in and waiting for the valve check to complete so you don't get the loud burp.

I take heart from this article, the car may not be perfect, but 40K hard miles and the Shelby is still running very strong. Same 0-60 time of 4.2 secs when new and at 40K miles, lateral grip improved to 1.03g.

So this is what a well used 40K mi shift knob looks like. :)
