132mph trap speed in the quarter mile ? For a front engine/rear drive car weighing over 4000lb and a factory warranty ? ? Insane !

Exactly as I thought. It’s tough to get traction with that much power from a dig.

But the gt500 is going to be an absolute terror from a roll.

From the article:

“The GT500 does flex its muscle in its post-quarter-mile performance, hitting 150 mph in 15.1 seconds. That's a massive 3.2 seconds quicker than the ZL1 and 2.8 quicker than the Challenger.”

3.2 seconds faster to 150mph than the ZL1? Holy hell!

Also worth noting, it seems to be the Carbon pack they tested. I wonder if the base will fare better on the street with its slightly taller ride hide and more compliant suspension.

Blaq and hotlapse are going to go off on this one review, but that's before they notice the car tested was the slower of the GT500's, quarter-mile-wise, being it was a CF version. Apples to apples, the ZL1 1LE, it's direct competitor, only pulled an 11.7 @ 124.

So, in brief (and I know you are reading this Blaq, despite you saying you never visit the site, LOL) the GT500 track version lays waste to the the ZL1 track version in the quarter mile. Track times TBD.

Uh, yea, in every comparable test, the GT500 will win, by a margin

The trap speed tells the tale. Its fun to watch idiots fumble for a car and driver win. From those numbers. Well you may beat me at an actual drag strip. where adults race. But if I ever catch your ass, on dirty concrete. Ill destroy you to 60mph.:giggle:

blaq continues to display his ignorance with every post he makes. It is evident that he's a novice when it comes to any venue that puts the performance of a car to the test and his skills are lacking. Just stating he's hit 180mph on a "private" road course was a laugher. He fails to realize that he's the laughing-stock of the C6 site and doesn't even acknowledge his peers when they call him out on his buffoonery. (i.e. jim martin). He certainly displays textbook insecurity issues, so I hope at some point he gets help. In the meantime, he does bring a level of pitiful entertainment to an otherwise boring C6 website.

I think the ZLE with the A10 is probably a bit quicker than that, but either way the gt500 definitely pulls harder.

Huracan territory is 132-134. Absolutely Insane.
C&D trapped 135 mph in the base Huracan, and 136 mph in the Performante. I wish I could see the 60-100 mph time for the Shelby. The base Huracan does it in 3.2 seconds (as does the Ford GT). Based on the 1/4 mile performance compared to 0-60 mph performance, I would expect the GT500 to also be in that 3.2 second 60-100 mph range. That's 2019 ZR1 territory (60-100 mph in 3.1 seconds, trap speed in 1/4 mile was 135 mph as well). Compared to the ZL1, which takes 4.0 seconds 60-100 mph. From a roll, the GT500 will flat out destroy the ZL1, no matter what the 0-60 times indicate. This is evidenced by the 1/4 mile trap speeds (132 mph for CFTP vs 124 mph for the ZL1 1LE).

He's a major tool, for sure. The worst. I have zero respect for him, and think he is the biggest fool on the planet and he has the intelligence of a door knob. Anyway, I don't go to that site anymore so I don't know what he's saying now, but I'm sure he's forgetting to mention the 132 mph trap speed and only focusing on the 11.4 seconds tying the ZL1 and probably saying "the GT500 only equals the ZL1 but for a lot more money". He's probably also discounting that this is the CFTP car, of which the ZLE is slower than the ZL1. He will also claim he doesn't care what racers like Pobst say (that the GT500 is a supercar) because that's all subjective, he only cares about the objective measures of a car. Even though he couldn't even dream of getting anywhere near the limits of either car. He's impossible to argue with because he lacks basic intelligence. I've pointed it out many times there, but he refuses to understand basic things.

Those things aside, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and 1/4 mile in 11.4 seconds is a little disappointing. I realize it's traction limited and the 132 mph trap speed tells more of the story, but I feel like C&D should have been able to get better times. That said, my theory is they are testing in December, with cold asphalt, which KILLS traction with these summer performance tires. My 460 hp GT has spun the tires at 60 mph with half throttle on the highway before the tires are warm when it's 40F outside. Even when warm, the traction is limited on cold asphalt. I would imagine these GT500 times are due to a dreadful 60' time.
