I know it might be a bit too early to bring this up but I'm just curious on everyones thoughts. I'm really wondering if Ford will potentially offer the Dual Clutch Auto Trans from Tremec on the next Mustang GT refresh? Am I the only one waiting for this?

We will probably see one in the next mustang, if there is a next mustang. Camaro is going bye bye again, and with sales dwindling on cars in general and two door cars are even less popular, chances are the S-550 might just be the last hurrah. I just hope they make it until 2024 so they can have a full 60 year run on the mustang

Nope, I doubt it very much. I think the DCT will remain a GT500-only feature. It's the GT500's unique selling point, much like the flat plane crank is to the GT350. I'm not a betting man, but even I'd put money on the 10-speed auto being the only "auto" available for S650.

There's the rumor that the '21MY Mach 1 will receive the Tremec 6-speed manual from the GT350...........this could......could filter down to the S650 GT, but that's just wishful thinking on my part at the moment.

Oh....and I'm obviously talking next-gen Mustang (S650) here....and that won't be with us until at least the '23MY. There's zero chance of the DCT in what we think will be a mild facelifted '21MY

That's a great question, and something I was wondering about myself.

Putting the DCT into other Mustangs would really increase the performance.

I bet someone out there is looking at how to get the GT500's DCT into their GT350 or GT right now. That would be a tremendous thing.

I hope so. I see it trickling down to the GT350 first and then maybe two years later the GT.

I hope not. The 10 speed is fantastic. And anything with a torque converter is easier to launch.

I haven’t really seen past generations of gt get parts from the gt500. A logical transmission for ford to have put in the s550 was the old gt500’s manual but they just continued with the mt82. I would also assume the tremec is more expensive than the average 10R80 so base price would go up and that’s never good to for sales. That being said that the next Bullitt, mach1, boss, etc. I can see getting the DCT.

Then again your average Kia has a DCT in it so

Just my 2 cents, I owned a 2010 EVO with a six speed dual clutch in the past. Fantastic fun car and when everything was right it ran amazing, when I had 17 thousand miles on the car I did routine maintenance and one of the steps was to drain and replace the diaqueen2 transmission fluid.... the fluid was $450! Later on the car seemed to have a slip in the clutches, ended up being bad gas, but made me realize how finicky the drive train was in the car. I will stay away from duel clutches and stick to manual until I have no choice.

The A10 is already a winner. No need for Ford to put a DCT in a "GT" to jack up the cost.

Do you think we could put a 6 speed tree car from that car in a regular gt or ecoboost?

I think Maybe on the gt350.

It would bump up the price quite a bit though??
