A 275/40r19 is not tall enough to cause rubbing. I have that size all around on 19x9.5 inch wheels with +33 offset and there's still room to lower the car. Also, the rear tires on the PP1 cars are 275/40r19, so it's a pretty common size. I've even seen some people running 305/35r20s (quite a bit taller tire than 275/40r19).Yes but it won't be optimum, you probably would want to run a 275/35/19 as a 275/40/19 is way to tall and could cause rubbing from the height. A 275/35/19 is just about the same height as a 255/40/19.

Perhaps there is an inside clearance issue with 275s on the 9 inch PP1 wheels since the offset is so far inside (why so many run spacers with those wheels). There would not be a risk of rubbing the fender. In general a 275/40 on a wheel with proper offset won't rub. I agree a 275 tire on a 9 inch wheel is less than an optimum fit.I read somewhere on the forums someone ran this with the OEM 9" wide front and ran into rubbing issues. Could be wrong. That being said the OEM front tire on a pp1 car is 27" tall you will now be running a 27.7" tall tire. Not to mention the added sidewall as well as not optimum width for the rim is going to make for a sloppy front end. You also just added 6lbs of rotational mass to the front of the car. I also feel a 305/35/20 is to tall for a rear , I know its being done but not optimum.
