I found some wheels that I want for my car but they are around three hours away. I can take the truck but would much rather drive the mustang convertible if I could. I found four of the GT 350 wheels with tires that I been searching for, but the last thing I want to do is drive all that way and find out they can’t fit. Has anyone tried it or been successful…? If so, let me know when you might save me a lot of time and gas. Thank you!

Seems risky, but i tell you what…..if you decide to try, i guarantee you’ll find a way to squeeze them in once you ger there. I know i would. Being a vert, at least you have easy access to the rear seat. One in the trunk, two in the back, one in the passenger seat. Won’t be a pretty ride back, but i think it’s POSSIBLE 🤞🏻

Depending on the tire size, you may or may not be able to fit 2 in the trunk. I have a full size spare (235/50-18) in the spare tire well, and it sticks up about 3.0 inches above the surrounding floor. Dimensionally, a 2nd tire could fit laying flat above the spare....however, getting the tire in would probably be difficult at best, as the profile between the taillight assemblies create a challenge, even when putting the primary spare in. That said, you may be able to have the 2nd spare partially in, partially out of the trunk. I've never tried it, but it's a thought.

When there’s a will there’s a way. I once strapped a chevelle hood to the roof of a yj wrangler for a 150 mile ride. Yep. Wanted it. 😆

Not of the one in the trunk as that's pretty self explanatory, but the backseat I did. I bet I could fit 3x305 in the back as there's plenty of room side to side.

It never occurred to me that would work.
I took my legacy to pick up 4 19' wheels/tires, and my GF's Cruze hatchback to pick up 4 20" sets. The guy selling them brought them on a flat bed behind his pickup. He was skeptical they would fit in the Cruze. I could have really wowed him if I brought the 5.0.

Hey OP, yes 4 rims + tires do fit in a convertible.
If no tires are on and you are only talking about rims, it is even easier.

I bag all 4 rims&tires with wheel baggies or covers, then this is where I put each of the wheels in the convertible:
1 in the trunk (might have to remove the trunk floor liner and move the spare tire/flat tire kit)
2 in the back seats
1 in the passenger seat.

Angle them so that they don't roll or move around much while driving. It is possible but certainly not comfortable.

The benefit of the convertible is that it turns into a mini-truck when ya got shit to haul.

So at the last minute, I decided to take my wife’s Tesla to get them instead. I am really glad I did. With the thickness and width of the tires, I’m not sure I could’ve got them back unless really putting a lot of pressure on the dash, side panels, and removing the Bottom liner out of the trunk to be able to angle it in. I guess it technically “could“ be done, but there was also rain coming back, so I would’ve really been screwed with one heck of a story to tell everyone if I took the Mustang… 😅
