Camaro ZL1/1LE to have Auto Late February

Interesting that Chevy is going to add the auto (10 speed) to the ZL1/1LE before the GT500 comes out with its own auto.

They are trying to up the bar higher than the GT500 can match.

Some of the groups have many basically saying “take my money” already. I was a little surprised to be honest.

Apparently many more had to decide A10 vs ZLE than i had originally thought. Personally, i loved that it only came with 3 pedals. Oh well

The under 7 seconds will likely be reserved for the 755hp version.

Maybe, but the ZL1 1LE was 13 seconds faster than the plain ZL1 with the same HP. The new ZL1 1LE has been redone even more in the transmission for the 1LE version A10 and suspension and rear end tweaked.

Yeah you’re right. I’m quite anxious to see the new time put down. The 500 will have its hands full, but I feel ford benchmarked the manual 1LE, not an auto. Tough fight coming up.

I am looking forward to Chevy putting the 755 HP motor from the ZR1 into the ZL1. They could call the ZRL. With manual or A10, it will be a beast. If they start doing what Ford did, stripping out the back seat and other things, it will be light also.

Yes they could.

Remove the back seat to counter the Auto transmission weight increase, among some other things.

I find this to be a strange move by GM because with the 1LE it was all about getting nonsense and weight out of the car. They even removed daytime running lights. The 10L90 will push the ZL1 1LE back over 3900lbs. The manual car only weighs about 3840.
