I've been reading out there and there are some guys saying that engine issues in GT350 still are there, minors but there.
I'm considering between a Hellcat Redeye and a GT350R.
Which car do you think I will enjoy the most, which is more reliable and which is the best option right now.

I'd appreciate your help.
You are comparing apples to oranges. Honestly, you need to test drive these cars first because they are so different from each other. Dealers may not allow test drives on a new one but plenty of used GT350's and Hellcat's out there and a test drive in one will tell you what you need to know. I have test driven multiple Hellcat's and it is night and day difference from driving a GT350. It will come down to your preferences.

Not sure when this video was shot but suggest that it was quite some time ago since the GT500 cars had not already been launched according to the video.

None the less I found this video pretty well done especially for those of you that are learning about the GT350R and in particular the 2020 R model.

I absolutely agree with this individual as to why I would rather own and drive a 2020 GT350R compared to a 2020 GT500 and that is certainly with no disrespect to the GT500 as it is an amazing vehicle (one of the very best track vehicles out there for the money) but it would not push all of the buttons compared to a 2020 R as I consider the R model much more of a drivers car at least for me since I discontinued tracking my cars quite some time ago.

One point that he made was with respect to price and if I heard him correctly he mentioned that the 2020 R took a $535 price increase when in fact the 2020 R took a $5000 price increase over the 2019 R therefore not sure where he got his new pricing information?

Other than that a very good video and thanks for posting!

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hey guys!
Ford is not taking more orders in GT350/R.
I’ve been calling dealerships and they are asking $5000 over MSRP price.

I don’t know what to do? I’ve been driving automatic transmission since I moved to US. When I learned to drive, I did it in manual transmission, but it was many years ago. Also I’ve been considering a Hellcat Redeye.

So, will the GT350R worth the $5000 over MSRP?
Will the car easy to me for drive?
What would you do, take it?

Please, any advice will be appreciated.

Regards

If I were you, and had limited manual experience, I’d find a GT500 CFTP. That way you have the best of both worlds.

The R is a rare breed of a car that manual purists love and sacrifice left nutz for. As for $5000 over?... in this market and the last year of production, that’s not bad.

Yes, the GT350R has AC. I asked because I had read about it hadn't AC. Maybe I misunderstood.]
All R’s made after April 2018 (?) have AC.

the reason being all cars made after that date require a back up camera by federal law, and the camera was part of the previous package that included the radio and AC.

So all R’s after that date come fully loaded.

I found a dealer that have allocations available to remove an order and place my 2020 GT350R Kona blue/white stripes and fully loaded. Also I’m trying to low those $5000 over MSRP all dealers are asking.
Is this car my best option guys? I love the Challenger Hellcat Redeye and this Shelby GT350R, but this Shelby sounds amazing.
I’m not experienced in manual transmission, but I have an idea when I learned in manual. Also I’m very careful with my cars, so I can learned.
What do you think? I know that asking this in a Mustang forum I won’t get a points for a Challenger, but...
I want this car (Hellcat or Shelby) for weekends, enjoy it, maybe few times take it to the track (after break-in engine, and have experience with manual) and also I want the best to hold the price for future (just in case).

5K over sticker for a 2020. Not bad. I bought a leftover 19 in March for 5K under.
LOL. I saw a 19 Raptor on a dealer lot for 5K over sticker. Now that Ford is coming out with the new F150 I want to see if those over sticker prices drop. After years of owing F150's I got tired of Ford dealers thinking they were selling gold and went with a GMC AT4.

If you’re looking for a car to get acquainted with a manual trans, the 6sp Tremec and the clutch in the GT350 are very smooth, much better than the MT82 in the previous generation mustangs.

Not “fully loaded”, but with a/c, nonetheless.

Good for you... you landed one with another year of production coming. Try that now... smh.

and radio, navigation, along with the back up camera.

What would be left to option on an R, besides the CF dash treatment ?
