What a great and inspiring thread....I wish I had half your fab skills.

Really want to attempt this and since I have an MT82 I think it might be easier.

Any luck with that parts list mentioned earlier in this thread?

Also how are you or where are you running the turbo cold side intakes out too? My will be a weekend driver that will get rained on more then once im sure so hydro locking something worries me

I've had my mid mount set up on for a few months now and driven in a downpour without filters on the turbo. Not something I would recommend at all but car is just fine still. Many others I know have done the same without issues.
Realistically you would need the water pretty much coming into the cabin for the turbos to be submerged. I think most of us are smart enough to drive around big puddles lol.

Yeah.. ill get a complete parts list together. Ive been lagging on that.

Also... This kit is designed around the MT82 cars, so you wouldnt have to do any of the wastegate repositioning that i had to do.

I am just running filters on the turbos. My car is a weekend car and has literally never been driven in rain and wont be lol.

From your install experience is there room to run a cold side pipe to a safer location for the intake side? I live in Tennessee and when it rains it floods at times and sometimes unexpectedly and in strange places.

Well... little progress to report today... not much.

Fabbed lines for trans cooler since I had to relocate them from pass side to dr side.

They came out great. They are -8AN black braided.

Giggidy!

Do you know what size the threads are in the trans adapter you bought? I bought the same one and it came with 6an fittings but I want to use 8an. Doesn't make sense that PA supplies 6an since that is not the recommended cooler line size for 6R80.

Car is getting faster but still learning to drive it. 60 foot and 1/8 times are still very bad.

New best ET of 10.3 and new best mph of 144. Still on 8psi and still running full street trim/18" wheels and with a drag radial and stock suspension, axles, and drive shaft. 0 weight reduction. Actually, i had 25 lbs worth of tools in the trunk on these passes ... doh!

Given this trap speed, I’m impressed with how this kit is performing at this boost level.

It has to be making around 800whp at this point on ~8 psi. Trying to get some dyno time scheduled!

Are you able to build any boost on the line? Is the bad 60ft due to traction or lag/stock converter.

I was able to build a few psi (2 or so) on the line but had my 2 step set at 2200 which was too low. Of course i forgot to bring the tiny flat head needed to adjust it so i just left it alone.

Plus i kept bungling the launch while holding the button. Too damn many things to remember at the staging lane.

Now that the 2 step is on my brake pedal, that is one less thing to think about which will help a lot.

I will also raise the 2 step RPM to 2500 and launch in 2nd gear. Should help.

What an awesome thread! It's inspiring to see someone doing a budget-oriented build without cutting any corners. It just goes to show that some ingenuity and hard work can make your money go a long way! Keep up the good work.

Consider the aerospace drag brakes with dual calipers .
In my Hellion car wirh stock rear brakes I was only able to build 3 psi off the foot brake with the 2 step set at 3300.
With the double calipers I could hold the car with the brakes and 2 step set at 4000 rpm , building 6-7 psi .
I was sure it was going to do wonders for my 60 ft (previous best of high 1.4xx’s) .... but as you know damn car broke
