Not super expensive but received a DIY Watch Club Flight series watch as a Christmas present last year from kids and grandson. Finally got around to building it. Bit of a PITA installing the second hand but finally got it completed. Biggest issue is seeing all the little parts with 67 yo eyes šŸ‘€šŸ¤£

That is a good looking navigators watch. But geez it looks big. I presume 47mm. That or you have tiny little wrists. šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ‘

šŸ˜ guilty as charged. Lost 4ā€ in waste size since November 2023 and wrists shrunk as well. Only 40mm case.

My next dilemma! I know this can't be answered as it's too personal of a choice...but gonna pull the trigger on an IWC BPW. 46 vs 43, lol?!?!

I need to up my watch game. Have a few nice Citizen watches but have been eyeing a few Tag Heuerā€™s and the Bomberg racing collection lately

When you decide to make the jump, take into consideration the many boutique brands out there. Some truly fine watches can be found at $1000 or less. Also consider gently used. Again a lot of options. All depends on what you are looking for.

My sweet spot is 42mm so 46mm would be too big. But itā€˜s a pilots watch so they are supposed to be big. Try them both and see what looks better and which is more comfortable. Post pics when you decide.

Not sure if youā€™ve heard of the brand Farr & Swit, but heā€™s local to me and has several nice options that are pretty well priced. Lots of different options out there thatā€™s for sure

Wow, another one. Thereā€™s just too many choice these days Just did a quick look but they certainly look solid and reasonably priced. The fact that they are local sounds like the start of a wonderful relationship.

Soooo, that's what adds to the dilemma of the decision. I've been to my dealer twice trying both sizes on. I've been daily wearing a Bretling B50 46mm for years. I love it. It's actually quite surprising how quick and easy you can get used to a watch that big. I just posted about a new AVI-8 watch a few post back that's also a 46mm. BUT, I also have several watches in the ~43mm range. The problem with the IWC is that there's a pretty significant price difference between the two. I am of the opinion that the complication justifies the price difference, but it still hurts the wallet. And it's still a heart decision. AND, you run the risk of buying the 43 and regretting not buying the 46, but very unlikely you'd buy the 46 and regret not buying the 43.

Kind of like the Ecoboost versus the GT. Nothing wrong with an EB but no one ever bought a GT and said geez, I wish I had bought that turbo 4!

The fact that you said what you did tells me exactly what you should do. If the dollars for the 46 arenā€™t there yet, wait. You will be glad you did.

Iā€™m mostly 42mm as well. Iā€™ve tried on 45mm watches and they didnā€™t feel overly big or anything, most of the styles I liked were 42 so thatā€™s what I bought. Definitely comes down to what feels best though, especially if itā€™s one that youā€™re going to wear for any length of time

My largest is a 44mm Breitling Superocean. It doesnā€™t get the wrist time my other watches get because of its size. Thatā€™s a shame because itā€™s a great watch.
