Absolutely love high-end watches! While Breitling, Rolex, Tudor, and Omega steal the spotlight, the Railmaster holds its own with its durability. It's like the unsung hero of the bunch. Perfect for a day of hard work in agriculture or any rugged environment.
Well the Railmaster is made by Omega. And it’s a classic.

Kind of an unusual bronze watch. Beautifull alum bronze case. Stainless edge of bezil, and crown. Grip areas stainless. 60 clip bezil, 300 m depth.
Inky blue dial. I dont have another this odd color
Definitely different but strangely appealing. 👍

After 10 years, I figure it's time to send in my Breitling for servicing. It's losing more time than it should, I attribute this to my keeping it on a watch winder for weeks and months at a time.

Breitling will send you a complimentary return box, shipping USPS Express with $4K insurance was $114.

Not sure what the bill will be, including polishing, but the pricing sheet seems to indicate $570.

We will see. Pictured with a new NATO strap off of Amazon. Impressive for a strap that costs less than $20.

So, I don’t remember if we talked about AV-8 watches earlier, but I got this guy on a Black Friday deal. Most of their pieces are in the ~$400 (or just under range) range. Saw a few in person and was intrigued enough to want to try one out. Finally pulled the trigger when I got this one for almost 60% off. Love the style. In fact, if you’re a pilot watch fan, hard to argue their styles are pretty legit.

Overall, after a week with it…worth it. Full mechanical movement, Japanese. But the second hand sweeps very nicely. Keeps great time. The lense is super clear which is important to me. The crown is very reminiscent of the IWC Big Pilot Watch, which is what I think they were going after.

Advertised as all stainless case. When you hold it beside a uber name brand stainless case, you can certainly tell the difference in weight and quality, but it’s not garbage. It’s safely a $400 piece.

If I were forced to complain, it would probably only be the strap. “Genuine leather”. Bro! GTFOH. Coulda done better. I’ll swap that out and it’ll be legit.

Anyone have any thoughts/opinions/experience with this route? A group of buddies that are watch fans also want to go in together and take advantage of the sale prices. Might be a good novelty night. Thoughts?

Mailed it off and got it back last month, it was 90 days earlier than the estimated repair time.

Cost was a little over $1200 for servicing, including replacing the "middle case."

Looks brand new again and keeping good time, I'm happy.
