Hi all. I searched for this but didn’t see anything specific. I am at 49,000 miles and I am still on the original brakes on a 2019 GT PP1. Enlighten me on how far you’ve gotten out of your original brakes. I’m thinking about changing them although they don’t seem to be breaking down at all.

Anyone? Just trying to get a gauge and how much more I have.

Some people get 20K miles and some get 65 to 70K. It's all in how you drive. Look at the thickness of the pads. Are your rotors grooved up?

No tracking, just highway to work mostly so mostly highway. That would be the reason I’ve lasted so long.

I had 37k miles on my 2016 before I traded it in and they were the original brakes. They still had some miles left in them but I never got overly aggressive braking in that car. As mentioned above, it’s all in how you use them. If you’re doing mostly highway miles you can probably get good mileage out of them.

I don't know if you do your own work or not but at 50K it would not be a waste of time to take it to a brake shop and get a free inspection, or yank the wheels and look yourself.

Thanks for all the advice. I don’t do my own work but the last time I went in to get my fluids changed they said the brake linings have marginal wear and they may need replacement soon. So I was just checking on everybody’s mileage.

2017 with 76k miles on original pads. Embarrassed to say I still have like 40 percent left. I don't even have a highway commute.
I think I have some kind of Jedi brake technique because in the past I used to track at crazy lap times and never had issues with nearly stock brakes.

I have a friend with 43 000 miles on the original brake pads. If they are not making noises when you are braking then they are good.

Visual inspection is going to be the only way to gauge wear on the pads and rotors. If you don't know what to look for take it to a shop that you trust.

I have 62K on mine and have plenty for street driving for now. Will be replacing pads and rotors before HPDE this coming spring. My diesel truck had 156K on it before I replaced pads and rotors, but I have an exhaust brake on it that I use weather I am towing or not. I all depends on how the vehicle is driven and I will stick my neck out here and say that no two drivers are the same. For street driving I tend to let off the throttle and let it roll to a red light. My wife? Balls to the wall until she gets to the light. Then hard on the binders! And go like hell when the light changes.
