Hi everyone,

I recently purchased Bosch Ignition coils (4x) (Model No. 0221604700) and it was rated at 14v versus the 12v by motorcraft or other OE replacements.

The outcome of getting these replaced was a tremendous performance peak increase or perhaps just peak power restored. My main concern here is that why the such difference in voltage? Did this made a difference for others as well?

Do voltages get increase for strong combustion so that the spark can be more effective when switching to Sport+/Track/Drag stripe modes? is there any coalition on this?

There's not a difference in voltage, just packaging. A system with a 12V battery runs at about 14V with the alternator spinning. Bosch is generally good stuff. It's likely as good as Ford or better, but I don't think you're going to be able to use it as a welder or anything. It's just an ignition coil.

Plugs, coils and air filter are always good maintenance items to freshen up.
