Boost Guage

Yesterday I had the Vortech Intercooler installed and on the drive home I did several WOT pulls and each time I was reaching 20 PSI on the gauge. If I mod the engine more and tune it to run more boost I will need a higher reading gauge. What have you all found for an aftermarket gauge that works well and installs cleanly in the cockpit?

Both the gauge in between the AC vents in the dash and the one in the gauge cluster both go to 30psi on both my 15 and 17.

That answers my question. I don't have the performance package. I guess I'm ordering the gauge package for between the vents.

I have the PP with the gauge in the middle. Its completely useless if you're looking to monitor boost, especially if you're tuning it. The parallax error from your eye to the gauge (ever try to see how much gas someone has while sitting in the passenger seat?) combined with the small size of the gauge and thickness of the needle means you'll never really have a clue what your boosting other than 'low, medium or high boost.'

If you want something better, you need a digital display, preferably something with a peak hold so you can tell what your maxing out at. I have a Cobb AccessPort mounted on the windshield in my sight-line. I never looked at that middle gauge but just for shits once in a while I'll try looking at it and can't see how anyone can even so much as glance at that thing under WOT and see what its doing. So before you go ripping apart your dash, see if you can't spend your $ on a quality NGauge or AccessPort coupled with a tune and mount it where you can actually see it.

Just a suggestion but I think you'd be much better off.

Yeat at WOT you shouldn't be looking at it, Cobb shows min and max for each monitored value which helps a lot, or you log it and look at the table later
