Hey guys, I did a search and did not see a thread about this.
What do you guys have or what are current options out there?
(mostly for “door ding protection“ from other cars at parking lot)

So far, I found one that looks oem:

I would pass and just be careful where you park.

Thanks.
Its kinda hard…esp here in NY.
(The parking lots here and even our marina gets crowded, esp in the summer)

Would like to see a “minimalist” kind of door side protection if anyone has any ideas.

Problem with the Mustang is the contour of the door itself. You may put that strip on it and still get dings due to the way the door is contoured.

I live in Los Angeles and parking is a bear here as well and influences what vehicle I will drive. I have several cars. I know NY City is next to impossible almost to even own a car especially Manhattan.

I've seen that rub strip in person on a Mustang. I have to warn you that they absolutely ruin the look of the car. They also won't do any good against anything taller than a Fiero. The door contouring forces you to mount it so low, you'll get all your door things above it. I did this...but I realize it isn't an out-in-public option. Pool noodles with countersunk magnets and microfiber attached.

Thanks,
I’m looking for something minimalist/low profile. 😀

Park up next to a few different cars that are owned by mates, open the doors and check the touch points.

It surprising how varied they can be.

In my opinion it’s the car with the rubbing strip that if positioned correctly, is the car that protects the other one - rather than being the car that is protected (which is what you really want.

Flat doors with a straight rear edge (e.g. front doors of a four door) are the easiest ones to protect from and provide largest area of contact (which is good).

Profiled doors with angular rear edges (e.g. rear doors and coupe doors) are the ones with the most varied impact points and the impact point can be very sharp i.e. they also have the potential to cause the biggest dents … :frown:

Thanks for All the suggestions so far.:like:

I have seen a few magnetic ones on amazon.
(I do like that its removeable)
I can also make one myself with magnetic sheets and maybe use carbon fiber pads/thicker molding.

I just thought there would be more options out there that looks oem.
