Are there any differences between the welded body in white of the S550 chassis assuming the same year? Does the body of the GT350 externally only have a different hood, fenders, and front and rear fascias? Am I correct that the roofline, rear fenders and doors are the same?

What year are you seeking info on or about? What’s the intent for the body in white?

The S550 2015-2017 will be the same as far as body shell and front core support.

The S550 2018-2019 will be the same as far as body shell and front core support.

Being the the core support is redesigned for the 2018+, compatibility with 2015-2017 forward sheet metal is not possible without modification to the core support and inner fenders. Same is true if trying to backward engineer to a 2015-2017 from a 2018+.

From what has been posted on this site, supposedly the GT350, GT350R and GT500 have a different front structure and core support when compared to the standard S550 body shell (all years). With that in mind, the standard S550 “fender forward” won’t bolt right up.

The passenger compartment doors and rear trunk lid remain unchanged from 2015-2019 regardless of model.

I’m sure others can chime in with any additional info.

Could an entire 2016 OEM GT350 front end be bolted on a 2016 Mustang chassis?

Even if the model years were of the same body shells - there are still differences between the GT350 front core support and the standard S550.

In the attached images you can see that with the bumper covers removed, the inner core structure and actual hidden metal bumper beam on the front is different from the GT350 to the standard S550 as well as some other associated parts.

The plastic L & R inner fender liners are different.

The complete belly pans are different.

I’m sure I’m missing a lot of other misc items but, just with the below images you can clearly see there’s differences. Others can chime in and add to the thread too.

The first (2) images are of a 2015-2017 GT350.

Holy moly......
The damn "bodies in white" are identical across the board. Only the stupid bolt on parts change. This includes the impact bar, radiator support and inner fender plastics. All are just bolt on parts. Easy to cross reference the body panels on a parts site. For example https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-part...nJnk9MjAxNyZ0PWVjb2Jvb3N0JmU9Mi0zbC1sNC1nYXM=. All the welded metal is the same.

Not sure what you are going on about the core support for. Every part you keep pointing out as different is a bolt on.

So........."Could an entire 2016 OEM GT350 front end be bolted on a 2016 Mustang chassis?"
Yes, if you have all the appropriate bits to bolt it on. There was a really well organized parts list posted on here at one point that had every part you needed to swap.

That's what I meant, all the different parts bolt on and the welded chassis including the rear fenders are the same.
