Saw it earlier, nothing shocking in terms of appearance. Just some minor changes from the 4 series (lower air dam/fascia, side vents, splitter, and signature quad exhaust) Theres probably more but thats all i found from a quick glance.

I doubt this will be enough for competition for the gt350. Rumor is that it will have around 450hp.

Yep, no doubt the GT350 will be more powerful, but you can bet the M4 will provide the performance and handling benchmark for the class, just as the M3 did for the Boss 302.

Price aside, I'm sure the M4 will be awesome.

Im sure the performance numbers will be there as its also shedding some weight, but BMW has been losing driver excitement and driving dynamics for a while now compared to previous bmw generations.

I can only imagine what the Mustang team could do on the M4's budget.

Is it me or does that look huge? The wheelbase especially.

They pretty much run the same times in the 1/4 as the GT350 even with less HP. They're a pretty even match in acceleration. I'm not sure about on a road course. I would image they are in the same ballpark there also.

It looks like the original post was from 2013, so that M4 is pretty well established. Here is the 2021 M4 (no doubt a performer, but yeesh...):

That rendering is close but some of the details are off, and it looks better in actual photos, rather than a computer generated rendering. That said, the large buck teeth are not attractive (not news), and the previous gen M4 looks better IMO in photos. If the new BMW/Toyota Supra has taught me anything, it's to wait until you see one in person to really judge how the car looks. I wasn't a fan of the Supra from pics, but in person, it actually looks really good. We'll see if the BMW buckteeth look better in person than in photos. Aside from the buckteeth, I like the rest of the new M4.

From the side, it looks good, but while I understand it may look different in person, I will be surprised if I like the nose.

Does it count as competition if it winds up stickering at twice the price?
It probably will be about twice the price, but that's just what it costs for BMWs. A base BMW is probably almost twice the prices of a base mustang also.

The base M4 price is $70k, vs a base GT350 msrp of $60.4k. With options, obviously the price of the M4 climbs pretty steeply. That said, I built a minimally optioned M4 competition that would msrp for $75k. That said, the GT350 will perform about the same as the M4 in a straight line, maybe silghtly quicker manual vs manual, and beat the M4 around a track. The M4 is only about as quick around a track as a GT PP1, without MagneRide. The M4 competition may be slightly quicker, but I don't recall exactly.

Anyway, I'm not doggin' the M4 - I think they are nice cars. The GT350 is more special, though.
