Decided to pull the trigger on BMR’s new road version of their s550 k member. Ordered from Lethal Performance. Here are some pics of the install. Install was pretty straight forward. I had to modify the stock oil cooler and trans cooler lower brackets and use some L brackets to reattach to the BMR k member. None of the modifications would mess with being able to go back to a stock k member if needed. Belly pan was able to stay on with no modifications. Just used zip ties in two spots to hold it up to the legs on the k member.

On my mod list to do. Definitely looking forward to any feedback that you provide on driveability.

Same here. Engine mounts???

Torn between this or the Steeda. Probably splitting hairs between the two.

You can use any engine mounts you want. I still have the factory ones in and you’d never know there is a k member in the car.

Interesting. That is cool they designed it to reuse the stock mounts if desired. So the front doesn't feel more rigid, solid, lighter, or anything? Better feedback?

We put the BMR in my sons S197 and also used their engine mounts. It made a huge difference in the feedback overall. The engine mounts were a huge change to get used to, but now that we're used to it, I couldn't go back.

Word is a voodoo with aftermarket mounts is pretty crazy due to the vibrations.

We decided to let the customer decide what mounts they wanted to use as we got many inquires about stock mounts, after all not everyone is building an all out race car. Hard to beat the KM760 at $599.95 which is 16lbs lighter than OEM with a built in toe hook and retains front sway bar with provisions for magnaride.

Is KM760 the same as the one in the first post? Lethal lists it as a street k-member, but OP says its for Road Racing.

Yes, the KM760 is the Street/Strip version with the additional bracing. The KM761 is the Drag Race version, though I no longer see it on their website. I do see 2 separate part numbers on vendor sites though.

The only "Road Race" version I know of is the Steeda offering.

Guys, it keeps every option the car comes with. Road racing is just implied. If I was drag racing I’d get the drag version and ditch my sway bar.

I am curious why drag racers ditch the front sway bar. I get weight reduction but unless the car is 100% race use, the few pounds seems unnoticeable to the benefit of having a semi balanced suspension

The swaybar will try to keep the front planted on a launch, which is not what you want. Lift = less rolling resistance from the front tires.

I’d recommend removing the road racing qualifier. Unless BMR comes out and says this has been designed AND tested for road course use, it could be very dangerous and expensive experiment for someone - yourself included.
