You don't need the knuckles to put 15's out back but you are limited to the width you can run without them. The Weld 9.33 wide wheels fit stock knuckles. If you get creative others do to. I have narrowed Race Star Recluse 15's that fit and with 275/60/15's are 9lb each lighter than the 17" version with 305/45's.

Pics Ive never seen a 15 on a S550 without modded rear irs knuckles or a mega buck watson rear irs.

15x275s im sure are fine for a NA car.

My tune has a transbrake feature on the 18s using the paddle shifters. I can tbrake up to 3000rpm on stock converter. The 10r80 is a whole different animal. I do make over 500hp to rear tires. 3.55 gears. A k member saves about 25lbs on the 18s which im doing but not a lot. Any weight helps.
Nice. Now go shame a few C8's and some 2020 GT500's. LOL! Leaving at 3000 on a tune created T-brake is more than enough. Requires some relays and a wiring mod with a tune change (I believe) on the 6R80 cars. My 14 Et was on the stock converter. I installed a 2C Circle D in it but then sold it before it ever made a pass. Was offered a good price on it and stupidly let it go. I miss that car, but the owner of my speed shop has it so eventually I will get to see it make a pass. He bought it for his fiance.

I believe it and want to replicate it.

I caught some hate for mine as well. I was one trans brake launch from a 10 sec pass last time out on stock headers/cats.

Bryan has put a ton of work into that hot rod and it's paying off. Saw it run first hand at Mod Nationals, just wish we could have caught up. Keep doing what you're do sir!!!

Considering I get these tires as take off's from friends who have much faster cars than mine I'm sure 275's will be more than enough for my car and well beyond. A 275/60/15 isn't a limitation compared to the 305/45/17 IMO, probably the opposite. Even the tread width is pretty darn close and they save 18lb over my 17" setup. Plus, I can swap to different tires on the 15's pretty easily to slicks or other sizes that are not available in 17.

Now, this isn't a perfect solution but it's quick and easy while using the stock knuckles. These are narrowed to 8.5 wide. I think a 9.25" wide would have fit perfectly fine and I would have done that if I was doing it over again. Live and learn.

Sorry, the snow started so no outside pictures.
