Fuck -

Add a 2016 R to the count. Buddy back in WA (not on the forum) had cylinder 8 fail a compression test after the check engine light came on during a track day. Early guess is valve seal. Car is heavily tracked. Will update when Ford decides course of action.
How many miles on his car honeybadger?

I agree, mine seized commuting home from work on a surface street. It didn't violently blow up, just died with a whimper.
My TP's first engine, same ; )

GUYS GUESS WHAT THEY REPLACED THIS ENGINE AND THEN THE REPLACEMENT STARTED LEAKING OIL ON THE FLOOR 2,000 MILES AFTER.
UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THEY FOUND OIL LEAKING NEAR THE A/C COMPRESSOR. AND IN THE NINTH HOUSE COME TO FIND OUT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE BLOCK
AND THAT'S WHERE THE ENGINE OIL WAS LEAKING FROM, THERE CONCLUSION OF THE INVESTIGATION WAS OVER TIGHTENED A/C COMPRESSOR BY THE FIRST DEALER " (DEALER ERROR) "
ITS BEEN OUT OF COMMISSION SINCE LDW AND NOW ITS SUPPOSED TO BE READY THIS WEDNESDAY. WELL, WE WILL SEE....

GOING THROUGH A BUY BACK OH LAWD DOES IT TAKE A LOOOOOOOOONG TIME! STARTED 6-18-18 HERE WE ARE 112 DAYS LATER NO BUY BACK COMPLETED YET.
CANT WAIT TO GET A PORSCHE OR VETTE THIS CAR BLOWS.. I WAS CONSIDERING A 2019, BUT I HIGHLY DOUBT IT AFTER 3 ENGINES IN THIS BOAT ANCHOR.

Less drama??? Isn't that the point? LOL Either way, going with Porsche is no less dramatic. Don't believe me hit reddit and you will have some reading to do ; )

Sorry to hear man. That's why I recommended (way back in post #697) that you check everything out after you got it back. No disrepect to your techs, but replacing any engine is a significant endevour...should only be accomplished by specialists not stealerships.

Add my car to the list. 7k miles. No sign of issues or warning lights. In fact I was remarking the day before how great this car was feeling. I started it up and the whole car shuddered like the engine was seizing then ran fine. I got it home and started it again and heard metal on metal squealing. Shut her off and checked the oil and it wasn't even registering on the dipstick. Two quarts added and still not registering. Thick black suit in the exhaust tips and I just washed it a couple days before. Dealer told me the oil is full of metal shards and we are probably looking at an engine replacement. Great ...

Hey guys, you can add my GT350 to the list. It's been at the dealer since September 6th. 2424 miles. The motor didn't actually blow, but it is getting replaced. Details: I was driving normally when I heard a metal rattle or knocking noise. It was very faint at first but got progressively louder, until it almost sounded like a piece of metal was dragging on the ground. It sounded like dragging tin cans through the street. I thought something was loose and dragging. I was driving stoplight to stoplight in traffic so I didn't notice any change in power. I pulled into a parking lot and turned the engine off. I checked underneath and there was nothing abnormal. No oil leaking. I started the engine and it struggled for a second before starting. The noise persisted. The engine was not overheating. Oil temp and pressure was normal. I checked the oil level, and it was near the top of the mark. I had just put a quart in at 2279 miles. Looking in the engine bay I saw nothing abnormal. I shut it off and got it towed to the dealer. After two weeks they said they found heavy metal debris in the oil filter, then after a few more days they told me engine replacement was authorized. Still waiting for the engine.

Other stuff:
-18 GT350, built Feb 18
-Incident occurred at 2424 miles
-Added 1 quart of Motorcraft 5w50 at 1443 miles
-Added another at 2279 miles
-Both FP catch cans installed at 104 miles
-Catch cans cleaned at 1530 miles; passenger side had maybe 1/3" of oil. Driver side empty.
-No mods
-No track use

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Damn that sux man. Hope they get it worked out. Mine has a build date of March 18. Approximately 900 miles. Love the damn car. Not gonna worry about it though. If it happens, it happens.
