I traveled several hundred miles yesterday in fairly heavy rain squalls. During the heaviest rainfall, BLIS blockage warnings began to appear. BLIS reactivated a few minutes later.

Will rain running along the rear panels block the radar signal for BLIS?
When it first happened, I thought the convertible (<400 miles on it) was having an electronic malfunction.

You really need to check your blind spots during heavy rain on the roadway. Not everyone turns on their headlights during rain squalls. I angled the mirrors outward to help if BLIS went out

I've seen this twice. Both times were in terrible rain storms.

Interesting. I have not seen this at all during any rain amounts. Will keep my eye on it but no warnings have come up like you stated.
