Black 5.0 GT detail

Picked her up from dealer TCH Derby (thanks Jim) they had left it in off the transporter condition as requested PDI only. Straight to the detailers for a full hit of Gtech inside and out, have to say very pleased with results.

The detailer was very impressed with our American cousins paint, good consistent depth and very little orange peel.

Since then FRBB touring fitted,the essential hood struts,black 5.0GT wing badges and black grille pony.Gibbo (trademark) suspension mods to come.

One of those machine polishing shots looks very scary. I was thinking about Gtechniq for my car but decided to go for wax (this Friday) because I think it doesn't work so well when you have 2 big vinyl stripes down the car

The idea is that it is supposed to make cleaning easier. The G tech is a crystal serum that puts a protective layer on the paint with a Hydrophobic sealer coat on top.

Still gets filthy though but should require minimal maintenance other than two bucet washing.

Got a thing for black cars and even do concourse with a black mini. Madness

The black is non metallic so generally these finishes are softer than metallics which is why i went for the Gtech.Have to say under my garage LEDs the finish is flawless not a swirl or marring anywhere. It wont last.

Apologies if this has been answered/explained already but what is the purpose of asking the dealer to leave the number plates off? Is it so the detailer can clean the car better? Will the detailer fit them on after?

Not everyone would want their plate all over a detailers Facebook page, it's probably SOP's by them.

I've found biggest difference is the wheels - much easier to clean. No special 'alloy wheel cleaner' required.
