Have you guys been seeing big discounts?

what would you call a big discount?

i see some dealers still have some New 2018s and 2019s? Would you look at those?

would a New 2018 be the same mostly as a 2020?

love to hear why you guys think.

I saw a New 2018 GT350 for 5k off MSRP. I don’t know if that’s a good deal with it being a older model year.

You can get 2019 GT350s for more than $5K off so no, $5K off for a "new" 2018 is a horrible deal. To me there is not enough difference to worry about between a 2020 and 2018 provided you can get $10 or $15K off. It's a function of your comfort level with the money. If you are happy that is all that matters.

I bought my 19 R right before everything went to hell @ 4700 off sticker. Granted, I drove 4.5 hours and the dealership was south of St. Louis off the beaten path.. but so worth it!

I'm certain there's more and better deals to be had!

So on a 2018 what leave discount would you say?

2019 discount off MSRP?

I have seen some leftover 2018 Orange Fury GT350s out there.

If you can afford the GT350R in this economy,.........GO FOR IT!!! It's a win-win for you. Discounted prices will help immensely.

I think if you offer the dealer invoice, the holdback, ALL the hidden money making tricks, the best you can expect 5k-ish off sticker. Any more and they are downright losing money, which most don't take well to for their 60K investment

I've seen another 2018 left over with a $11185 discount. The deals out there are due to excess inventory and not COVID-19... JMO

Bought my 19 brand new showroom floor for 58k. on Jan 24th. A day earlier my buddy found a 2018 with only 2k miles he paid 45K. I think he got the better deal

$10K+ off an 18. $8K+ off a 19. $6k off a 2020. I would not pay more than that right now, and the longer you wait the more desperate Ford and dealers will be, and it’s possible we could see 0% interest on 19 GT350’s.

The real value will be used. I’m guess low mileage 17’s below $40K and low mileage 18’s for $42k and under and low mileage 19’s for high $40Ks.

There’s gonna be crazy deals out there but the market has nowhere to go but down for awhile.

You both got nice deals, but yeah, he got a HELLUVA deal on the used 2018

But let's see, besides the 2k miles of possible wild joyrides he has on his 2018, what options do you have? If you have the electronics, you get the better 2019 and up B&O stereo, cobra puddle lamps, blind spot warning, and maybe you have air cooled seats, carbon dash, etc etc.... PLUS you get the new GT500 block, better heads, new rim design, re-tuned suspension and better solid rotor for the brakes, a better rear "SWING" and other aero tweeks..... I can tell you from working on my classic 60's cars you would have a hard time getting all that kind of stuff onboard for only 10k or so. In my mind, pending your options, I think you can in fact justify it

So this thread felt like the right time to make an account.

picked up a ‘19 gt350 end of March. I’m in the Dallas area and had been keeping an eye on gt350s in a 200mi radius. Got a deal made for 57.5 on a car without handling package or car cover but had tech pack, carbon interior, and leather trimmed seats (cooled seats for my daily driver in Texas :whew:).
Just as a review it’s msrp was 64,xxx. Was listed on car gurus at 61,5xx, and I said a firm offer of 57.5 and he eventually made a deal as long as I came in within the next two days. I’m assuming for the end of month.

since then I have gotten a few notifications of other gt350s I was keeping an eye on being sold. Seems like people are making their moves these days and some dealers are willing to make deals.

I choose the new 19 over the used 18 for some of the reasons you mentioned. I got basically all the options on the 19. Electronic package ( I especially wanted the puddle lamps [to kinda match my 2015 gt]) the handling package the carbon fiber I/P the leather seats and the cover. I also justified my purchase to myself with the value (2k) for the track attack school which with the used 2018 he wasn't able to get. Also with the gt350 welcome kit. Knowing someone didn't rag on the Car for the first 2k miles. Was it worth 11k extra? To me it was. To each their own. But he did get a killer deal on the 18. It was mint as well.

You also have to really ask yourself how long will you really keep the car. Look at your past history. If you plan on keeping 8-10+ years the buying new makes more sense to me. The depreciation hit is much easier to swallow. If your like me and often flip cars every 1-5 years then I pretty much only buy low mileage 1-2 year old cars that have had big depreciation hits.

I’ve been doing this a long time and only used to buy new, but quickly realized I just get bored with cars usually within 1-3 years. I’m loving the GT350 but likely will be buying a used C7 ZR1 (manual) or a used C8 in the next few years.
