Better air + better tires = PB

I got to the track and mounted up my MT ET street R tires. Fortunately, it was a cooler day than the last time I ran. FINALLY I was able to run without violent wheel hop on the 1-2 shift. I know the 60s are not very good. That was strictly driver caution. I didn't know how the tires would hook and my track is 110 miles from home so I was pretty gentle on the launch. With more aggression, I think 11.8s or maybe even better might be possible. We had a stiff side wind but, otherwise, the air was good.

I was just happy not to get any wheel hop. That was my biggest problem with my stock tires. I love the way the drag radials cured that problem. Bluebeast, I know you like to see wider and taller tires but I think with no power adders the 275/40-17s worked fine. The lower height actually gives me the equivalent of a 3.70 gear even though the car has a 3.55. They do look a bit small but they hook well.

CB005 and vertical links. I had those before and still had wheel hop with stock Pirellis. The Mickeys combined with the suspension mods and the better air was all I needed to cut 4 tenths off my previous best.

I am planning on an E85 tune at some point....probably not until next season.

CB005, vertical links, drag radials. This is the first time I could actually use drag mode. With the stock tires, it would just wheel hop on the 1-2 shift and sometimes even shut down the engine or force a shift to 3rd prematurely. The drag radials solved the problem.

The other "mod" that made a lot of difference was DA around 300 rather than the 2500-3000 I was running in last month.

I used drag mode. First time I could use it without the IRS going crazy. I got a little bit of wheelspin on the 1-2 shift but no hop. I had 20 PSI in the tires. Probably should have lowered that some.
