Getting a lot of stone chips in front of rear wheels. Should I go with solid guards or film?

I have Suntek PPF on the front of both rear wheel guards and have zero stone chips in the protected areas after 27000km. I recommend that the PPF extend to close to the top of the wheel arch as I did get a chip high on the arch in an unprotected area from a rogue stone thrown from an oncoming car.

I don’t have solid stone guards.

Likewise 30k km Suntek PPF and no stone chips. Although if you already have 'paint patina' the PPF might not be ideal unless you get them rectified.
