I use Goo gone. Just make sure you clean thoroughly with soap and water afterward.

Carpro TarX and Koch Chemie TEA can be used for rubber removal.

Koch Chemie EU Eulex can also be used, although it's much stronger so use with care.

never thought to use it on the wheels...

i do like the r3 stuff though!
Grab yourself a bottle of the xpel stuff for rubber removal on the body/painted surfaces. Makes the R3 look like snake oil :)

70% isopropyl alcohol. I have PPF, so no issue with the paint.

I wound up getting a ceramic coating on my GT350, which makes the rubber come off much easier, no special products needed (and less sticks to begin with).

I really can’t imagine anything working any better than R3, while also being safe on paint.
I’d be hesitant using a chemical designed for PPF, on clear-coated paint.
Does Xpel advertise it’s safe for paint/clearcoat that doesn’t have PPF applied?

R3 is designed for paint.

I could use paint thinner to remove track rubber which I’m sure would be quicker, but definitely not safe.

The bottle doesn’t say one way or another, but I can tell you from my own experience it’s not in any way shape or form a harsh chemical. I’m assuming if it was in any way harmful to paint or other non-ppf surfaces, they’d be required to put a warning on the bottle.
