Hoods, well, they're not a one man job without some sort of rig, and hood alignment is trickier than the decklid.
You could definitely keep your stock hood, but my guess is that it will just be taking up space.
I do that with a trunk, because I can swap trunks without an additional pair of hands in a couple minutes.I'm getting tempted to get an eBay hood and add RaceLouvers to it and just use it on track, then keep my current one for driving around. Best of both worlds and it's <£400 + paint for a decent looking eBay hood.
