I'm getting tempted to get an eBay hood and add RaceLouvers to it and just use it on track, then keep my current one for driving around. Best of both worlds and it's <£400 + paint for a decent looking eBay hood.
I do that with a trunk, because I can swap trunks without an additional pair of hands in a couple minutes.

Hoods, well, they're not a one man job without some sort of rig, and hood alignment is trickier than the decklid.

You could definitely keep your stock hood, but my guess is that it will just be taking up space.

With the UK weather (rain) and the image issues (boy racers) it makes the effort worth it.

My current hood is the definition of boy racer 😂

Guys & Gals, what's the best street heat extraction hood in your opinion?

I was looking at this one from Trufiber, thinking it was pretty good:

I mean best bet would be some sort of GT500 or GT4 style hood, at the end of the day you really just need actual venting from the hood more than anything else to help keep things cool (depending on purpose of course, if you are making an all out time attack downforce oriented car I think you'd be better off relying on wind tunnel proven hoods as someone else mentioned).

The hoods I have/had lined up (as not sure I want to pull the trigger on them due to funds) would be one of these two:

https://andersoncomposites.com/coll...ford-mustang-carbon-fiber-heat-extractor-hood
https://andersoncomposites.com/coll...ustang-type-gr-double-sided-carbon-fiber-hood

Anderson Composites also has a GT500 style one too (https://andersoncomposites.com/coll...stang-double-sided-type-gt5-carbon-fiber-hood)

and I believe they also have a fiberglass variant of the GT350 copy hood. But at the end of the day I think the question is do you really need the functionality or not. If you do good, and you probably would want to go with the extreme, but I think probably 85-90% of us on here are mainly doing it for looks more than anything else.

It’s not bad looking but the 2 bank xylophone louvered look reminds me of the 87 IROC-Z I had in college. Even with the 5.7 it was a slug. My girlfriend at the time had a thing for GM F bodies so I had that going for me, which was nice.

I have an Anderson carbon hood now. I like the ones you listed.
