I had the Cooltech belt clips as well at first but more and more tracks and HPDE events organizers require a 5 / 6 point if you have a roll bar and harness installed.

So I decided to install another bracket that can have a sub belt attached. I bought this from a forum member who I connected with on another popular Mustang forum. He makes/ welds and paints them himself, they are really well made and high quality ( made in USA lol ).
So I just found out yesterday that Cooltech stopped making the harness Clips.

to me

Hi Jim,

Sales have consistently tapered off since 2012-ish. The issue is that to get the price down, I would need to commit to about a 100 units and it would probably take more than a year to recover the investment - so really just not that interesting of a proposition any longer.

Best regards,
Kendall

So I wanted to know if you have the contact for the other forum guy who made the other bracket?

thanks,

Jim

Welp, all done. This install is every bit as difficult as people said it would be, especially doing it all by myself. Got everything done with no casualties. Had to use magnets to hold the nut plates in place for the rear leg bolts from under the car since I was doing it myself but once a few threads had be started, it went smoothly. I think they removed the rear suspension to get the pictures for the instructions because it's VERY tight in there to try and get the nut plates in there. I couldn't even get any pictures. Direct angles were all obstructed. You can only get one had in there. That was by far the hardest part. There is also what appears to be a vacuum/fuel vapor line (not sure exactly) that sits right in the way of one of the drill locations and has to be removed. It's part number FR3C-9S327-AD. You have to install it back into a hole that you can't see and try to reconnect it by feel. That was the second hardest part. I'd like to know specifically what it does so I can make sure it's reinstalled correctly. I'm assuming it is because I have no issues at the moment. Everything seems to have gone ok. The holes for the rear legs that go through the rear seat delete are a bit off but it's very difficult to line up properly, even when using the L-shaped aluminum called out in the instructions. It's not too bad and I can live with it. Now I plan on spending the rest of today relaxing and letting my 40-year old body convalesce. Getting old sucks.

EDIT: Looks like the FR3C-9S327-AD line is a fuel vapor hose. Not sure what will happen if it's not hooked up correctly. (see last two pics)

So in the interest of completeness, I went ahead and crawled back under the car and snapped the best pics I could of the brackets for the legs. You can see how important making sure the brake lines and harnesses are out of the way is. There is also a fuel vapor line that needs to be removed that the instructions make no mention of and I found out the hard way that if you don’t remove it, you’ll drill right through it. $28 later I have the line replaced and reinstalled. There doesn’t seem to be anything inside the channel it goes into for it to connect to, so I don’t know what’s up with that, but it’s reinstalled properly as far as I can tell. These brackets were by far the hardest part of the install, especially considering I did all this by myself. Used magnets and tape to hold them in place and after getting all the bolts installed, removed the magnets. Anyway, it’s 100% complete and I’m liking it a lot. It’s been raining for days and I haven’t had the chance to get the car out and drive it to really make sure everything is ok, but tomorrow’s looking good, so we’ll see. Thanks everyone.

Yup... drilled through that pipe when I installed my rollbar! I ended up just taping it with duck tape since it's only a vent pipe. No issues.

For those interested I have a friend who is selling set of Schoth Profi II harness (driver/passenger) that he bought for his Viper but never installed them. Black and yellow.,

PM me if interested and I can put you in contact with him.

Did you notice anything for it to plug into inside the channel? There doesn’t seem to be anything for it to connect to on the channel end.

Hey TreeFiddy,

Where did you get that lower belt mount that installs on the seat bracket?

It’s been 3 years since install so I dont recall it vividly, but I think it was just sitting in the holes in chassis without being connected to anything. One can wondet what is the utility of such a pipe! I dont own the car anymore so I cant take a look!

Thanks. That’s exactly what I thought because there’s literally nothing inside that channel to connect it to. It’s for emissions I’m told so who really knows?
