So I pulled the trigger on a Watson Roll Cage and I'm wondering what the best 4-point harness is for that application. Most of them I see attach the arm straps to the rear seat belt attachments. The rear seat delete somewhat prevents this. Just curious what you all think the best application would be. Thanks.

I have the CMS roll bar in Oxford White (body color) and the Scholth 4 point GT3 harness and it fits nicely with the fixed Recaro seat frame. I had the same harness in my 2012 Cayman R which had the gt3 carbon seats. This belt is specifically made for this type seat set up.

How do the shoulder straps attach? To the roll cage bar? You got any pics? Just curious before I spend $700.

I don't have a roll cage but do that a roll bar. I ordered the roll bar with harness guides. You can order it with or without the guides. They strap onto the cross bar behind the seats in a normal way. Nothing special.

I used to use the Schroth Quick Fit, but I should have had something else. I think it was a great harness, but it isn't compatible with a HANS. I think their Quick Fit Pro is compatible with HANS.

This is the right way, to the bar behind the seats. If you run the shoulder belts down to the floor or rear seat area, you will be putting abnormal tension on your shoulders in the event of an incident.

How did you attach the waist straps to the car frame? Would you be willing to take a pic?

Search my watson roll cage thread for HR361. It's all explained there.

Absolutely, I will post a picture later today when I get my car back from the dealer.

I had the Cooltech belt clips as well at first but more and more tracks and HPDE events organizers require a 5 / 6 point if you have a roll bar and harness installed.

So I decided to install another bracket that can have a sub belt attached. I bought this from a forum member who I connected with on another popular Mustang forum. He makes/ welds and paints them himself, they are really well made and high quality ( made in USA lol ).

The sub belt goes between the seat cushion and the seat back and you sit on the sub belt. Now a lot of people and I agree ( don’t want to start that discussion) will say this is not a safe 5 / 6 point harness set up but so far I have only used the 4 point Schroth as this has the ASM ( anti submarine) function, which combined with some head restraint is a safe option for HPDE.

Both the Cooltech clips and the fabricated bracket are attached with the rear two bolts of the seat to the floor.

I hope the picture is clear enough. This is the passenger side but driver side is identical.

Thanks a ton. I’ll see if I can acquire that bracket.

If those are the shoulder straps tied to the floor, don't even think about doing that. Go to the Schroth racing seatbelt installation web page and see how to properly install the shoulder harness. They should not exceed 20 degrees of down angle. I'd post the page but I don't know how to do stuff like that with a computer.
