I am talking about the BEST, not comprising for tread life or anything.

My car is not a DD. So far my research has shown (with vastly low tread life obviously) the answer to this question is the BFG R1 S? I am assuming followed by Pirelli Trofeo R's and Kumho V720 ACR's?

It's a DOT tire just like the R1. For something barely legal like the Trofeo R you want Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 or Yokohama Advan A048.

Or you can go Extreme Performance tire like those on this list: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/types/perfCat.jsp?perf=EP
The BFG Rival S is the current fastest autocross tire per GRM.

Those re71r's are near an Rcomp and typically get like 5k miles before they're toast haha

From what I've seen they are one of the top autocross tires aside from Hoosiers and other full RComps, but I think they cap out at 285 and 305 widths. Not sure how they compare to the trofeoRs, I would assume the trofeoRs are better but I don't know for sure. Sport cups are probably comparable as well. The R888s are good too, they're more a better track tire than autocross tire though

RE-71R

One that actually lasts a halfway respectable amount is the RE-11.

We should do a comparison of both of them drag and track and street usage. Then cross analyze them to see which is the best option.

Whos up for the challenge?

No question unless you want a drag tire.

Not sure why we are having a tread life discussion as the OP specifically said "not comprising for tread life or anything".
