Best drag tire for 850-900whp?

‘19 S550 5.0 w/ ESS G3 Supercharger/ A10R80/ E85
I’m currently running a ESS Tuning g3 supercharger (105mm pulley, e85, headers, exhaust, injectors etc) on my A10 2019 GT , made 870+ wheel tuned by LUND. However I’m having the hardest time hooking from a dig AND 30 and even 60 roll. I’m running MT ET Street SS 305/45/17 on a 17x10 VMS wheel (usually anywhere from 15-18 psi in tires when racing) I’ve also had Nitto NT05R and NT555RII, still same issue… anyone know a good tire that will actually hook on a higher WHP level? I live in TX btw so usually streets are nice and hot.

You left out what suspension modes you have installed. Suspension will play a big part in you putting the power down… but I feel your pain!

Agreed, need some suspension info. However I was advised to get the Hoosier and stay away from the ET Street R.

Also, we have alot of people doing no prep around here similar to TX stuff (I moved back to MD from Arlington in October) and these tires are hooking like crazy. The MT is better on the track prepped for radial but I've heard and seen of alot of failures from the MT ET Street R in the 305/45/17.

At your power level maybe a 315 50 17 et street r would be better. I intend to go that route myself soon as I like the look and plan to make 800-1000 whp

At your power level maybe a 315 50 17 et street r would be better. I intend to go that route myself soon as I like the look and plan to make 800-1000 whp

That’s the exact same issue I’ve had with MTs
Agreed! I went with 315/30/20 Toyo R888R for street use on my 1059 WHP Camaro SS. I don’t try to do any street pulls from a dig, but from a roll they’re surprisingly good. I save the ET Street R drag pack for track use only.
