OK I think the problem was my Sync 3 upgrade and the fact the FCIM was from a Fusion, and the radio is one I bought on Ebay with XM capability. I downloaded my as-built (.ab) file from Ford Service for my VIN, and used AsBuiltExplorer to identify differences in ACM between what's currently in the car and what it left the factory with. The original ACM values were as follows, which are different from what Forscan was reading:

727-01-01: D800 2800 0030
727-01-02: 0100 32
727-04-01: 0003 0255 53E0

I reflashed the car to the above entries, but for 727-01-02, I entered 0000 32 (Forscan automatically corrected the checksum to 0000 31). IMMEDIATELY noticed improved bass and volume. Checked the sound levels on the same CD song at volume 10 as before, and the sound is up from 48 avg / 56 peak to 70 avg / 78 peak! Unbelievable change. Turned it up to about 16-17 for a few seconds and my ears have been ringing for the past hour! Reversing my thoughts on these Kicker 43DSC6704 speakers, they are awesome, almost feels like i have an amp and subwoofer now! HIGHLY recommend them. Can’t believe for $148 and a programming change it sounds like the Bose system in my Silverado.

There are a lot of DTC's showing up in Forscan, again I'm sure because of the Sync 3 upgrade, so now I'm going to go back and compare my VIN as-built's to what's currently in the car and hopefully knock a lot of those DTC's out.

That's awesome! I knew it made a huge difference on the three I've done. Glad you figured it out.

I have never used forscan, but want to try the eq option, but a little hesitant to make changes unless i am sure this is right. I took a screenshot of my settings for the ACM, do I need to change the 0700 to 0000 in the pic below?

I'm no expert on Forscan but I did make this change. All I did is change 727-01-02 01xx to 727-01-02 00xx. After writing the change other numbers may get auto updated. Back up the file before you make the change.

OK problem... just realized my steering wheel audio and phone controls aren’t working anymore, except for the radio volume. Cruise and dash display steering wheel buttons work fine so it’s obviously something I messed up in Forscan. If anyone knows what it is I’d love to hear it!

It was something in the APIM settings... I loaded the APIM.abt as-built file that I had saved before starting to tinker, and the steering wheel controls worked again. Not sure exactly what it was though.

good god, are you people deaf? Even when I turn it up 'loud' I don't go beyond 12. Level 8-10 is where mine sits.
Actually I'm a member of the if it's too loud your too old crowd and I'm 60. Mine sits at 20 with a 45w per channel amp and 200w sub. Too each their own.

Yea Mike only change the ACM setting for the bass roll off, nothing else
