Hey everyone , thought id create a small thread just to give people an idea on the work involved and potential results from these upgrades as many of you have similar spec to Ben prior to go to these mods

So if I recall (Ben can update me) the car, in terms of power upgrades was fairly basic

Steeda CAI , Roush axle backs (these weren't fitted for the dyno run we completed) and an nGuage with Lund Racing tune

the above shows the power figures we got with the current set up

then we moved onto to installing the new manifold

we arranged the manifold for Ben https://j-w-racing.co.uk/product.php/11794/4156/genuine_ford_intake_manifold_mustang_gt_5_0_2018_

he arranged the MMR IMRC (intake manifold runner control) & CMCV (charge motion control valve) lockout kits

Final checks and road testing to be completed prior to a new dyno run with the new manifold installed , will update the thread once we have that data and of course once we add the X Force headers and pipes

cheers

Plans to do a dyno run with just the IM and then the headers too?

That would be interesting.... :)

Yes , we will dyno with just the manifold upgrade only (with new tune) to see how that works and then again with the headers and CAT back

Lund give the impression the cat back wont affect it too much so we will fit the whole system before testing

cheers

they do nothing until you remove the cats up front as the cats are still bottlenecking the system. once you remove the cats or make them high flow etc then the backboxes become the bottleneck so thats when your cat back makes a difference.

don't forget to keep us updated depending on the results i'd definitely be interested if its a decent gain for what would effectively work out to about 500 quid fitted i guess

It's more than that.

About a grand fitted if it's just the IM and fitting and you already have a CAI and tune (so just an update).

Another grand again for a CAI and initial tune file and mgmt device.

manifold is 324 on their website the mmr lockouts are about $120

fitting i'd do myself so is free, I already have a tune so its $50 for lund to update it and why bother with a cai using factory throttlebody so stick with factory airbox + K&N CAI's do nothing on these cars. so all in less than $500 and about an hour of fitting time

OK guys

we have some very +ve results from bens car

I was out of the country and left one of my colleagues to do the tests hence the slight delay in communicating this to you

with CAI , ngauge & lund tune, MY18 manifold with MMR lockouts installed we saw 478.5hp

in reality the car should have cleared 480hp , the rev limit on the dyno was set at 7k at the time and the chap didn't get time to up the limit a little to see peak figures if we went to 7500rpm but the power was still climbing

we are extremely happy with this result and will be putting a few power packages together in the very near future to reflect the result achieved

as a guide you are looking at 460hp with CAI , ngauge & tune , add the manifold and you are at 480 add the headers and you are at ???hp

we will have those numbers in the coming days

if anyone is interested in any of the power packages for their pre 18 GT 5.0 let me know we will be offering 460 , 480 and 500hp kits (assuming the headers do their bit !!)

cheers
