So, its getting to be around the time I need to start looking at more drivetrain bits. Whether or not im going to try and make this MT82 better or scrap it and go TR6060. The only transmission mods I have currently is the MGW shifter, amazing piece btw, so I wouldn't really be out much.

We were talking through facebook and he claims he's cut 1.3's on the Mcleod RST with his stage two transmission and some sticky rubber around my power levels.
That's ideally all im after if possible, as long as that setup will allow for launching and power shifting I would have no issues. I do not mind having the car cool down between passes, I never hot lap anyways.

Is there anyone on here that has a 700+ PD blower car with that setup mentioned above and it working consistently for you? I'd rather not have some regret not going RXT and a TR6060 or something. I really don't plan on making more power than where im currently sitting, but I will probably spin the motor to around 8000, so my numbers will be a little higher.

I'm in the same boat except with a Whipple stage 2. I really don't want to do a swap because I will lose the Whipple tune.

I had the same conversation with him. I'm in that power range as well. I was running the RXT and broke two MT82's. Option one, switch to the RST and go with a rebuilt MT82, option two TR6060 with RXT. He convinced me on option two. In process now.
At our power levels we are going into that gray area... RST might work and hold just fine, might not. If I'm not replacing broken transmissions all the time I sure don't want to be replace clutches either....that was what convinced me.

I smoked the RST with less than 1000 miles on it. At the time I was pushing 750-800whp with the 6060. Best 60' was 1.4 with a 4500 2-step clutch dump on slicks.

Was u giving cool down time inbetween runs or hotlapping,i noticed my new clutch works great if i give it cool down time, but if i run fast runs with no cool down it will slip sometimes.

Yes sir 30-45 min between runs. When i took it out there was hardly and fiber left on the disks and could see the heat rings on the plates.

I think the RST is only rated for 750ish? Yes you can send it back to have it rebuilt. I opted to purchase a RXT HD rated for 1200 instead ( didn't have time for a rebuild) and will eventually send my RST in to rebuilt to an RXT HD or maybe something better. Not sure yet.

Im pretty sure they have a 1200 hp version of the rst also, but i could be wrong. If they do u could upgrade the disc to that and have a good spare.

When i called about purchasing new discs, I thought about just buying RXT discs, I was informed they won't sell just the discs and i had to send it all in for a rebuild.

So jhatley7 you had no luck with the RST at all it seems...
gd it... I was hoping to keep it atleast a little chepaer, going RST and a built MT82, but if RXT is my only option and the RXT loves eating MT82s, tr6060 is in my future :(

To be fair to the RST, I had more power than it's rated for AND I was beating the hell out of it at the track on slicks. I had 0 issues with it on the street. Pretty sure that's bc of traction tho.

Wait, do you have the RST now? If so when you send it in do get it re-hubed to 26 spline, have them build it to RXT HD specs. It's about $500ish if I remember correctly.

If I did it over again I probably would have done a th400 auto swap. While I have nothing bad to say about the 6060, autos are just faster and more consistent.

Anybody that needs help with the swap just hit me up!

No, I'm trying to decide which option to go. Ben claims with my power level the RST and his built tranny will work. I do intend on launching the car in the end, and power shifting
