Base brakes.... still Brembos...

I have heard this rumor before but it was confirmed by few guys at my local ford deal I used to work at. Apparently the 4 piston brakes on base gt are still brembos just not labeled. They are surplus and the same brakes from the 13-14 gt500 cars. They were built by brembo for ford. Upon further looking online they do indeed look the same. Thought it was interesting. Some may have known or heard before just figured i would share. Guess if the labeled them brembos no one would pay to upgrade them.

That's the last place to go for info. The current PP setup was used on the 13-14 500s.

The 6 pistons yes. But if you look it up there were also 4 piston brembos on the gt500.

No, not Brembos. Early model GT500 look similar to the base GT calipers but the calipers are not made by Brembo. They are made by Contenental.

I see the diff with that picture. I figured id post it and see if ford was full of crap. As long as they stop when i need them to idc who makes it.

I was talking to someone at cars and coffee yesterday who said the same thing, the base GT/EBPP calipers are actually Brembo.

There should be some evidence showing they are Brembo or Brembo copies. They certainly look like the 2014 GT500 calipers.

If they were Brembo I would expect them to be advertised as Brembo or have some Brembo markings. They could be Brembo copies that is licensed to Ford and made by another company.

The 6R80 is actually a ZF design licensed and built by Ford.
