Might pick one up soon. I know their cal supports it. Wondering if anyone here is using one with the Whipple cal and how much boost you may have run on it.

This would only serve to run more boost on race fuel or Octanium.

I am using the MSD BAP from Whipple and their tune. I like the MSD better than JMS and when you buy it from Whipple it comes pre programmed and with a plug & play harness.

Im running the 3.625" pulley on 93 octane pump gas making 12-13 lbs boost with 10 rib kit

Thanks. I'll check that out. are you running an OD crank pulley? 3.625 should be 11psi correct?

Stock size balancer. The 10 rib adds almost 1 psi boost due to surface tension. My car has been on the dyno a few times and every time it was slightly north of 12 psi

bap really doesn't effect the tune, just keeps the car from leaning out when the pumps get to their edge,

basically an "amp" for your fuel pumps

Exactly, before with 56 # injectors the BAP was pretty much necessary but now that stage 2 has 72 # it's more a piece of mind. It only kicks in if needed is my understanding.

Thanks for the info, Jaime. Was wondering if a BAP was necessary with the stage 2.

I think it depends on your fuel availability and pulley size. If your cutting it close with a small pulley and on junk gas its worth it imho.

I'll be running the 3.75, I believe it is, with 91 octane from Chevron. There are very few stations, only one that I know of on my route from work, that offers, E85, 91-101 octane. Checked YELP reviews, though, and customers are reporting CC skimming operation has happened in the past. Guess I'd be alright with cash purchases. Should I run a BAP with 91 on Chevron Techroline?

Not needed, you want to have the buffer go ahead
but even whipple will tell you to save your money

You should be good without it. I only run it because I had it from initial install when 52# injectors were all we had and then installing headers.

Jaime, if i pulley down to 3.625" can I run 91 oct on it or i have to use 91 and octanium? Cali sucks were stuck with the shitty 91 oct. I also have o/r headers.

I really don't wanna give you the wrong advice but on 91 I think you need the 3.75. Running Octanium in every tank you should be able to use a 3.625" but I would talk to Dustin. Possibly turning octane adjust on with Octanium assuming you have the Whipple tune but either way give Dustin a shout.

Yes, 91 with Octanium. I run that with the 3.625 and I got the idea from SC_Ruby and Whipple said it was fine. I have everything on in flight control except for the knock and octane adjust options.

rio16 I have the 3.625 pulley and I run Octanium in every tank. Jamie is right, I would check with Dustin if it's ok to run the 3.625 just on 91 without the Octanium. Also with my setup of the 3.625 and Octanium I have the knock and octane adjust turned OFF. With it on it pulls too much timing and will hurt your power. If you are always running top tier gas 91 and above you shouldn't need the knock or octane adjust on. That's a protection for you if you ever get into a situation of only bad or cheap gas. Being out here in So Cal there are always major gas stations around.
